Planning for next season ...
Well, as far as the players are concerned, you have to think only about the next game because in this league, every game is a job interview. Either the team you are on now or the team that may be scouting you in the offseason want to know you are...

Question for Ken: Can the Redskins players, coaches and the organization start thinking and planning for next season now?

Where is the passion?
Well, I think Gregg Williams believes his defense isn't playing with passion. Good coaching will put you in a position to be successful, but passion is that extra effort that you give that makes the difference between winning and losing teams. And I don't think Williams sees that. Maybe they've...

Question for Ken: Are the Redskins not playing with passion, as you may have intimated on your Comcast postgame show?

Questions to ponder after today's game ...
Just to let the audience know, I am the moderator and will be posting my own thoughts and observations in addition to Ken Harvey's throughout the postgame portion of the blog ... and with that said, here are some questions for the audience that are dogging me in the aftermath...

Ken Harvey is off fulfilling his Comcast duties but will be back in a bit with his analysis of Jason Campbell's debut and the Redskins loss in Tampa Bay today....

Am I the only one ...
Who saw Ade Jimoh on the ground with the ball on this onside kick? Am I crazy?...

Two-minute drill time ...
You know, when there are two minutes left in a game, a lot of quarterbacks looks good. You wonder 'hey, where's that been the entire game.' But you can see Campbell has potential. Most people were thinking he couldn't possibly do as bad as Brunell did....

Question for Ken: How much can we learn about Jason Campbell during the final 2 minutes today?

I'm baffled ...
Okay, so between, say, the 10-yard lines the Redskins are getting run over like a squirrel crossing the beltway. But between 10-yard-lines or so, they have been stout. Maybe it literally takes them having their backs against the way before they suck it up and decide to stop someone. That...

Will the defense please step up ...
I have confidence that the offense could and will win the game, but none whatsoever that the defense can do the same. They look the same as they have all season, and are getting beat the exact same way they have all season. Missed tackles are also still an issue....

Question for Ken: Can the defense win this game today, or only lose it?

From good to bad, and vice-versa ...
As an individual player you can have a bad year. Teams can get film on you and learn your tendencies and abilities. When I played, teams would just adjust to you from year-to-year. Most players will be able to master one or two things, and those things are usually what...

Question for Ken: Can good players turn into bad players overnight in this league? Can good players simply have a bad year?

Grading the linebackers ...
In general, they have been avg. at best ... they aren't attacking the ball well against the run. Up the middle they have been okay, but are being burned on the outside. I would rate them as average. You know, I think the early injuries to Springs and Rogers and...

Question for Ken: What is your opinion of the Redskins' linebacker play today? For the season up to this point?

The defense: bending, not breaking ...
Well, first off, those turnovers help take potential points off the board for Tampa Bay. That's two potential touchdowns right there. I think the Redskins, while they are bending, not breaking. So I think they go into halftime with confidence. But the Bucs are working the outside runs to perfection....

Question for Ken: Okay, the Redskins defense has finally gotten a turnover (two, to be exact) ... but in turn, they are getting run over up and down the field ... why?

Does the kicker want some? ...
That kicker. What an idiot. On the playing field, they usually don't say anything. But as a former player, I remember we'd be practicing and sweating our butts off while on the adjacent practice field the kickers would be relaxing, talking about playing golf. There were times I just wanted...

Question for Ken: You see that 15-yard penalty on Tampa Bay kicker Matt Bryant in the first quarter? Have you ever wanted to take a shot at a kicker?

Analyzing the savior ...
You know, the savior better get some protection back there. But to answer your question, no, there in no one player that can save the Redskins by himself. Campbell does have a few issues; one, he does appear to hold the ball a bit longer, and the takes a deeper...

Question for Ken: So is Jason Campbell the savior of the Redskins?

Dealing with pressure ...
Yeah, I think it's probably better for him to play away. At home you have your fans, your family, the home crowd to worry about. On the road you just don't feel the pressure as much inside. And even if he starts out having a mediocre or bad game, he...

Question for Ken: Will there be less pressure on Campbell starting his first game on the road rather than at FedEx Field?

Sparking a defense ...
I know that when I played, and the offense made it a habit of failing on a continuous basis, after a while I'd be saying to myself 'dang, we are killing ourselves out here and the offense keeps throwing the ball away.' That would just piss us off as a...

Question for Ken: How might a new quarterback like Campbell affect the mindset and play of the defense?

Airing it out, bringing the hunger ...
Ken Harvey would have Jason Campbell air it out. And early. I'd want to get it out of his system. When I was playing, as a linebacker I couldn't wait for that first hit to give my adrenaline a target and settle me down. I think by airing it out,...

Question for Ken: If Ken Harvey were coaching today's game, how would he approach this game?

They'll have a new attitude ...
Yeah, I think the Redskins will play more cocky, more excited, with a new quarterback back there. I think with Brunell, the team was losing that energy, that spark. But I think Campbell will give them that spark that they've been missing. Campbell, from what I've seen, is a soft...

Question for Ken: Will the Redskins play with confidence, with a more cocksure attitude, knowing Jason Campbell is running the show at quarterback today?
