On the New Orleans Saints ...
Emotion plays a huge roll in football, and hurricane Katrina, its aftermath and its affect on the city have really given the players and the people of that city something to rally around. Reggie Bush is now coming into his own as an NFL player, and Drew Brees has been...

Question for Ken: The Redskins play the Saints next week in New Orleans ... what are your feelings on the rejuvenation of the Saints in the post-Katrina universe?

Ken will return after bit ...
Mr. Linebacker is off doing his gig for Comcast and will return shortly to give his final analysis of the Redskins' 21-19 loss to the Eagles....

Putting the Redskins away ...
It seems like the Eagles offense is wearing the Redskins defense down here. The defense just can't make a big play. The only dominant player they have is safety Sean Taylor, and I think he's playing a little deeper to concentrate on the pass. They have a lot of good...

Question for Ken: Do the Redskins lack the type of defensive player who can make a big play, make a big stop, on a drive like the Eagles' are putting together to try and run out the clock?

Stepping it up on defense ...
They are playing better. The crowd has come alive and the front-four are getting more pressure on Garcia. I think the Redskins look like the better overall team today, just by a hair, but the Eagles have been the more consistent. But Jeff Garcia has impressed me. I thought he...

Question for Ken: Is the Redskins' defense playing with more intensity in the second half?

Can Campbell bring them back?
Well, some quarterbacks in this league will get fired up and pissed off, but Campbell just doesn't have that fire in his belly. Mentally he looks like he's down on himself. When they praise a quarterback for being calm, cool and collected, you can still have that inner cockiness that...

Question for Ken: Can Jason Campbell's calm and cool demeanor be a negative as well as a positive?

Can they come back?
They will have to pass to come back, and Campbell has the arm to do it, but he's looking a little too predictable, and the Eagles' defenders are getting good reads on him. They can't abandon the running game, but they should also try to throw in some trick plays....

Question for Ken: Are the Redskins in trouble in the second half if they have to rely on Jason Campbell to bring them back? Or should they keep running Ladell Betts until he has 300 yards or the Eagles actually stop him?

Getting burned in coverage ...
Man, I got juked all the time ... I really wasn't a good pass coverage guy. I was decent, but far from good. That's why I became a great pass rusher. When I got to Phoenix they tried to make ma a third-down cover guy, but I tried to prove...

Question for Ken: Hey Ken, you ever get burned like Warrick Holdman did on that touchdown pass to L.J. Smith?

Running Betts into the ground ...
That would not be an entirely insane idea. You know, the pick-six by the Eagles was a great defensive play. But you still have to throw some passes in there. One of the knocks against Campbell is his big wind up, and on the quick slant, you have to have...

Question for Ken: Considering the day Jason Campbell is having so far and the success Ladell Betts is having, should Betts carry the ball at least 50 times today?

On loathing an opponent and remaining motivated on a losing team ...
Yeah, players can have hate for other teams and organizations ... after the game you can shake hands, but especially teams with dirty players you learn to loather real quick. Back in the day I thought the 49ers were a dirty team. The Eagles are a team a lot of...

Question for Ken: Fans have no problem producing reasons to dislike, or downright loathe another organization ... but do players have the same type of animosity to other teams or organizations, like, say, the Eagles?

Ken's take on the Ladell Betts signing ...
I think the signing of Ladell Betts is a great move for this franchise. He is a young back, a career Redskin, and he is consistently getting better, and he'll continue to grow into the system. He is the bruising, up-the-middle running back that Clinton Portis really isn't. With Betts...

Question for Ken: Ladell Betts, who just carried the Redskins down the field for a field goal, just resigned this week. Everyone has praised this move ... does it get your stamp of approval?

So, why watch? Why care?
You know what, they shouldn't care. Ha. But seriously, they should be watching if only to see the Redskins build for the future. I think if the Redskins had stuck to their game plan last week when they were up 14-0 and running all over the Falcons, this game might...

Question for Ken: Hey Ken, why should Redskin fans watch today's game, and why should they care?
