Another Key McCain Aide Departs
ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- In the midst of the Sen. John McCain's presidential announcement tour comes news that Marlene Elwell -- one of the Arizona Senator's leading social conservative advocates -- has parted ways with the campaign.
Elwell, who was one of McCain's chief liaisons to the faith community, confirmed her departure in a brief telephone interview this evening. She did not offer any further explanation on the decision.
Elwell, who is based in Michigan, rose to prominence in social conservatives as a leading member of Pat Robertson's campaign. She was also a prime mover in the Michigan effort to define marriage between a man and a woman that passed in 2004.
The departure of Elwell comes just days after McCain replaced his longtime finance director Carla Eudy in what communications director Brian Jones described as part of an overall overhauling of the presidential campaign.

Maybe McCain was sounding a little too much like a Bush clone.

Look, everyone knew that McCain was overspending. If you want to reign that in then you have to let people go. In the absence of further evidence that does not reflect negatively on the personnel that leaves but on the campaign manager and treasurer who were not thrifty enough in the first place.

". . . liaison to the faith community."? This is a campaign job? Oh, that's right, I almost forgot, John Boy sold out to the Republican religious right and snuggled up to Falwell and those other idiots he once renounced. Pander away, John Boy. Too bad, you once were a principled man.

Fellow Americans,
When voting for a president you should vote for someone that will challence the FALCON PLAN, ULTIME GOAL TURN U.S. IN POLICESTATE ** Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally ** is not a member of or has ties with: Scull and Bones. -- Tri-lateral commission. -- Bilderberg group. -- Any Secret Service. -- A military rank of officer.
Not be pushed by this presidency !!! -- Have bloody hands from the 9-11 2001 cover up !! Interests in oil, weapons or real-estate/houses. The candidate should not have ties or dependencies with the financial world. This candidate should not accept large sums of
money from belligerent corporations and should not embrace the thoughts behind the program NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND.
(This program brainwashes children not to learn facts but to become a good global citizen, i.e. government will tell you what is good for you (it actually replaces god or the natural laws), a very dangerous development). This so called SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT has been set up
to make zombies of the larger parts of the American population. Things like arithmetic of math are no longer necessary as long as you are a good global citizen and know to push which
button, that means phony education for you and your children. Examples of what is gonna happen with you and your families are right under your nose. Your
current president tramples your very American Constitution and the Amendments. He appoints a CIA director named Gates whom made up false intelligence to start a war and put your children
in harms way. This president is using you and your children as toys... and when he has done playing, your children might and up death. This behavior is also part of SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT. But be careful because today your government calls it SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT but tomorrow it might just have another name.. You should download this movie via Emule 9-11 Guilt {The Proof Is In Your Hands By Jim Hoffman Don Paul}[2005]Eng-Divx5.avi. AND FINALLY DONT LOOK AT THE APPEARANCE OF THE PRESIDENT CANDIDATE BUT FIGURE OUT WHO GAVE HIM THE MONEY TO GET THAT FAR !!!

I think the point wasnt that someone was fired but that that either a key connection to the Christian Conservatives was fired or quit. Either way it seems to show that McCain will not be getting the Christian Conservative vote which will make it close to impossible for him to get the nomination.
Watch for Romney to pick up his votes and turn it into a two person race between Romney and Giuliani.

So McCain lost the services of another gay bashing faux "Christian" Republican. Big deal. They're a dime a dozen.

Perhaps they each discovered the truth about one another.

LIASON TO THE FAITH COMMUNITY is quite a job description. John Mc Cain is a man I used to admire and respect. He has sold out the way all politicians eventually do. The religious right are crazies. Saving souls is not their primary interest. Wealth and power is what they seek. To many of them are as corrupt as the politicians they endorse.

What would a Pat Robertson Presidency look like? It would look exactly like the Arbusto Bandito Presidency of today. No difference. Bush has no ideas of his own, he gave Pat Robertson exactly what he wanted. The Fredo Bandito's Department of Faith-based Justice? President Pat Robertson could have done no worse.

Shouldn't hurt McCain in South Carolina where he's opened up a 9-point lead: http://www.solidpolitics.com

"liaison to the faith community" bothers me too. You should say "religious conservatives." It is more correct. Zealots would be accurate as well

He's a former pow, but he seems to have traded in his bravery for bravado. Every time he opens his mouth, he kisses dubyah's "schweatty" balls. His candidacy is in shreds. No wonder people are leaving his team.

Hero to Zero: McCain is realizing that the country has no need for a cranky old man whose claim to fame was his status as a POW 35 years ago. The lesson he should have drawn from that experience was that he had spent an unnecessary 2 extra years in Hanoi because Nixon drew out the war for political purposes. Our dicking around with North Vietnam about the shape of the conference table is eclipsed by the "surge" which will only extend the killing and dying without affecting the outcome.

How can McCain continue to make fiscal responsibility for the federal government a central issue in his campaign when he cannot even be fiscally responsible with a campaign staff of 150?

Is that John McCain totally out of his mind? If he thinks he has a chance in hell to win he is mistaken.
I think that he is starting a brain disease. He has a very warped thinking process.

Marlene Elwell is a paid hack. I bet she was fired.
