Senate to Vote On Alito Today-The Washington Post
"Republican senators, aided by 19 Democrats, cleared the path yesterday for Samuel A. Alito Jr. to join the Supreme Court and for President Bush to put his stamp firmly on the nine-member bench. The Senate voted 72 to 25 to end debate on Alito's nomination and to allow a roll call on his confirmation today, shortly before noon. Alito's supporters garnered a dozen more votes than the 60 they needed to choke off a Democratic filibuster effort, which would have allowed debate to continue indefinitely. Leaders of both parties said Alito, 55, will comfortably win confirmation today, although not by the 78 to 22 margin that Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. received last fall."

I can't believe we could confirm such radical Judges to a lifetime position. Scalito is a nickname for Alito, because Scalia and Alito, are one in the same on their views. We have now lost our Constitutional protections. A Unitarian Government is not what America is about, and we should all be very worried and alarmed now that Alito will be confirmed. Where were the Democrats backbones? Is there no UNITY in the Democratic Party? This was way to important to allow it to get past us. I'm thinking, maybe being an Independent doesn't sound so bad anymore. If we can't get our own Party to stand up for us, let's start one that will. I don't know which I am, DISAPPOINTED, DISILLUSIONED, or just plain MAD. Probably all three.

sky falling ms. lowe?
scalito is a simplistic name calling stereotype without doing any credible legal comparison. We are obviously in different times when you look back and see Scalia was approved 98-0.
Don't draw lines in the sand, stand by your party, support it like those who did when Bill was down and out, you can weather this out.

Even the ULTRA LIBERAL Justice Ginsburg, ACLU (founded by Communists) member, was well treated by the Senate, and confirmed by a 97-3 vote. Why are conservatives treated so badly? It seems that Democrats hate elections and are on a suicide mission rather than campaigning on ideas.

Your printing of the despicable Tom Toles cartoon is even lower than anything you have printed before. You are people who take your freedom from those who have and are serving in the US military and then you spit on them for what they have given you.
I would like to say that you should be ashamed, however, you aern't ashamed by virtue of your actions and then your defense of those actions.
Ever wonder why your revenues have dropped?
