Alert: Winter Storm Watch Issued
By
Jason Samenow
A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the entire metro area from Thursday evening through late Friday night. Excerpt:
LOW PRESSURE ACROSS THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL BEGIN SPREAD SNOW ACROSS THE MID ATLANTIC REGION THURSDAY NIGHT. AS WARMER AIR ALOFT MOVES INTO THE AREA ON FRIDAY...SNOW IS EXPECTED TO MIX WITH THEN CHANGE TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN. THIS NEXT STORM COULD BE A HIGH IMPACT EVENT...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW AND...OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS.
We're in agreement with this assessment and will provide in-depth coverage and commentary beginning early tomorrow morning....
