Forecast: Cold and Clammy Before Clearing
If you're up early this morning, watch out for a few icy spots, especially north of the beltway where temperatures hovered near freezing overnight. Also be cautious in navigating through patchy fog. The good news is temperatures will rise above freezing everywhere this afternoon. The better news is that sunshine returns tomorrow.
AM fog/drizzle then cloudy and cool. Near 40. The day will begin pretty dismally with low clouds, fog, and drizzle (freezing drizzle in the cold spots north and west of the beltway). The fog should gradually burn off, but skies will remain mostly cloudy in the afternoon. Temperatures will rise above freezing in most places by mid to late morning, likely reaching 40 or so in the afternoon. Overnight, clouds should gradually diminish, with low temperatures in the mid 20s in the colder suburbs to near 30 downtown.

SUNDAY
Partly to mostly sunny. Mid 40s. High pressure will build in pushing all of the miserable weather away. Sunshine is back along with 45-degree temperatures that will feel balmy relative to the previous several days. Clear and cold Sunday night with lows in the low 20s in the colder suburbs and the mid and upper 20s downtown.
A LOOK AHEAD
Sunny and mild on Monday, with highs in the low 50s. Rain is possible Tuesday, with temperatures again near 50. Behind a strong cold front, temperatures drop about 10 degrees by Wednesday, with highs in the low 40s.

We got a little more ice on some of the tree limbs last night, but it's pretty much history now seeing that it is in the upper 30s.
Bring on the thunderstorms!

Long-term forecast looking good for warm weather lovers. Some 60's in the 9-14 day range. Of course, it will be March then, so that's not unexpected.
