Forecast: Mild, but Wind & Cold are Coming
Enjoy today's 50+ degree temperatures, because a nasty shot of cold air is less than 24 hours away. Considering temperatures have been warmer than normal the last 13 days, tomorrow's potent combination of wind and cold air may be a shock to the system.
TODAY
Mostly cloudy, light showers possible. 50-55. The first of two cold fronts will come through the area this afternoon. Southwest winds ahead of the front will boost temperatures into the low 50s. Some light showers are possible (40% chance), especially north of the metro area. Tonight, the second, more powerful cold front will blast through the region prior to dawn. Temperatures will drop down to near 30 in the colder suburbs to near 35 downtown.

SUNDAY
Variably cloudy, windy and cold. 34-38. Extremely windy conditions will follow the passage of the front early in the morning as cold air rushes into the region. Morning temperatures in the 30s will not budge most of the day. Factoring in 25-35mph winds (gusting over 40), it will feel like the 20s. A stray flurry is possible -- particularly before noon and to the north and west of DC. Overnight, winds will drop and so will temperatures. Lows will range from the teens in the suburbs to low 20s downtown.
A LOOK AHEAD
Sunny skies for the return to work on Monday, but still chilly with highs near 40. Clouds increase Tuesday with temperatures warming into the upper 40s. On Wednesday, some rain is likely, with highs mostly in the 40s.
Still no signs of a snowstorm...

Mike, are you serious about Topper mentioning that? LOL - that's really funny. I don't watch channel 9, so I wouldn't have seen it. I might have to watch just to see that commercial...then change the channel back to 5. ;)
And I wonder if the Washington Post endorses Hillary Clintron? I have gotten nothing but "vote for hillary" and "donate to hillary" pop ups since I've gotten to the site. lol

The 12z GFS still has the storm but keeps us on the warm side, beginning as a mix or freezing rain over to rain. The 18z will have other ideas.
The mid-week could still have some interesting twists.
