News & Notes: Freedman Moves to Monday
Columnist Andrew Freedman, whose column was regularly featured here on Sundays, will switch to Mondays starting tomorrow. A variety of material will fill his Sunday slot including original weather photography, short (and fun) news items (such as below), questions from you (email them to us) with our responses, and more.

- The Post's Travel section has a feature on the appeal of visiting New Hampshire's Mt. Washington, home of some of the world's most extreme winter weather. "Call me weird. - DCRTV.com reports WUSA-9's meteorologist Kim Martucci beat out FOX-5's Sue Palka in its "Battle of the Local Media Hotties"
- Did you like Jim Kosek yesterday? YouTube's got another gem from Jim from November and a take from Jim forecasting for New York City earlier in the year.

d, if you're talking seeing some flakes, it's always possible, if your're talking about a big snow, not going 2 happen. This winter, which never happened, is now over. Hate 2 b the barer of bad news, but the facts r facts. I'll do a recap of the winter next week.

d, VaTechBob, Peter -- We typically see a couple snow threats late Feb through at least mid-March. Doesn't mean that'll necessarily be the case this time around, but historically there's no reason to write off snow chances quite yet.

Worst winter in years. Cool to cold, no snow. Lots of cold rain.

I just went outside to grab another log for the fire and was surprised to see 5/16" of snow accumulation tonight. Flurries continuing here at http://olddominionwildlife.com headquarters!. Current temp 29.8F.
