Forecast: A Sunny Spring Chill
Clouds increase tomorrow
Yesterday's brief taste of 70+ degree weather was just a tease. Thanks to a stiff northerly wind, temperatures will be 20 degrees colder today. Fortunately, though, the sun will shine. Tomorrow, it will remain cool but the sunshine will gradually diminish as moist, easterly flow settles in.
Mostly sunny and cool. 49-54. A north wind will supply a winter dose of cold for our second weekend of spring. Temperatures will struggle to reach the low 50s in the metro area, with just upper 40s in spots like Frederick and Winchester.
Overnight, clear skies will allow temperature to drop near 30 downtown and the mid 20s in the colder suburbs.

SUNDAY
Increasing clouds and cool. 45-50. Very cold conditions will begin the day, with temperatures below freezing throughout the metro area. Temperatures will gradually climb into the 40s, but increasing clouds and a cool wind from the east should cap high temps mainly below 50.
Easterly winds will persist overnight, so it will be cool and a bit raw. Some scattered light showers are possible, with lows near 40.
A LOOK AHEAD
Moist flow from the southeast will give us mostly cloudy skies Monday with a slight chance of showers as a warm front lifts northward. High temperatures should be near 60.
Some sunshine should break through Tuesday with very mild temperatures. Some showers and storms may threaten late in the day as a cold front nears. Highs will likely be around 70.

How come it's warm all winter long and now that it's finally almost April it gets cold. This is so typical of this area.
