Forecast: Becoming Sunny but Brisk
Much cooler weather arrives today behind the powerful storm system that caused all of the destructive storms in the Southeast. Temperatures will be about 15 degrees cooler than yesterday and will feel even colder factoring in 20 mph winds. Milder air will gradually work its way into the area early in the coming week.
Clearing, windy and cool. 47-51. Rain should end by 8 a.m. in most spots, and then skies will steadily clear. The afternoon will feature lots of sunshine but cold winds from the northwest will attempt to hold high temperatures below 50.
Tonight, winds will slowly slacken and it will be cold. Low temperatures will drop to near freezing downtown and the upper 20s in the colder suburbs.

MONDAY
Sunny. 50-55. Cooler than average air will continue streaming in from a chilly airmass to our north. Nonetheless, lots of sunshine will help temperatures climb above 50 across much of the area.
After clear skies early Monday night, clouds may increase towards Tuesday morning with lows in the mid 30s downtown and near 30 in the colder suburbs.
A LOOK AHEAD
A warm front may generate a few showers the first half of Tuesday; otherwise it will be mostly cloudy and dry, with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Wednesday will likely be partly sunny and warmer, with showers likely in the evening. High temperatures should reach the mid 60s. A cold front late Wednesday will dry things out for Thursday and Friday, but drop high temperatures into the low 50s.

Wahhhhhhhhh, I like cloudy and gloomy weather. Oh well. At least it's not 95° with 85% humidity, right?

Gorgeous but indeed brisk day! Anyone else experience the heightened urban wind--between tall buildings--while walking downtown? whewww it was strong at times :)

Re urban wind: Oh, I know a wicked place! I used to work in the West End at 25th and N. In winter, walking down the last block from Dupont Circle, I'd encounter icy blasts wrought (I guess) by buildings, school playground, and Rock Creek Parkway--they'd practically flay the skin off my face! This was before the advent of the blue bus b/t Dupont and G'Town; no choice but to hoof it.
