Photography: Vietnam Memorial & Reflecting Pool

I made the trip to DC this morning for a photo shoot of the Vietnam Memorial and Reflecting Pool at sunrise. The two landmarks are close enough together so that I can capture both at sunrise, with just a little hustling. It was the typical clear sky sunrise this morning, with a good red glow at dawn and bright yellow shades of color at sunrise. The temperature was slightly below freezing this morning with a light breeze so the conditions were quite comfortable. More photos can be viewed below.

Time 2 put a fork in winter, it's done. It's not going 2 snow the middle of the week or next weekend. Time 4 nice weather.

It's always a pleasure Bob.

Thanks, I love snow as much as the next person, but when it's not in the cards, it's not in the cards. I base my predictions on facts & not hope or wishcasting. May still some snow flakes but no Big snow storms in the next 2 weeks. Do think, at this time, that next winter will be close 2 seasonal.

Makes you reflect.

Bob, Your speculaion has been off the "snow bust"trend all winter. Not the actual forecast. Its easy to say,no snow...I can say no snow. You need to site references to why you came to your conclusions. Thanks

Well, lets see, look at the storm track & temps & it's not that hard 2 figure out what will happen. Unless the track is 2 our S & E & temps r in the low 30's or 20's, it's probably going 2 rain. So far, this yr almost all the tracks have been W & N of here, allowing warm air to enter aloft, & since warm air is lighter, it enters the atmosphere in the upper levels. The air in the upper atmosp. determines the type of prec., ergo it's not that hard 2 to forecast the type of prec. Sorry if I burst your snow bubble but hoping won't make it happen. So far I've been right on all the storm forecasts the last 3 yrs. I guess I'm The Grinch who stole the snow, & I am a snow lover, but it is what it is. If it looks like snow, I'll call it that way.

So you think this next storm is going to go up the lakes, or just be an inland runner thats east of the Apps?

I still love you Bob....of course I can't wait for spring, tho. That being said, I respect what you write here either way, but if you believe no more snow this year, that puts my mind at ease.

Thanks. Thats all I'm asking for. Many of your statements are not backed up by references. Bloggers will be more inclined to not take you comments for the "Snow" Grinch.

Trust me, you didn't burst my Snow Bubble Bob. The man upstairs decided that and I cant argue with him, no matter how much I wanted it this year.....)

Also glad your enjoy the snow. I thought you did...

VaTechBob: I think you probably are the Grinch and your pessimism has actually caused the snow drought. I cannot possibly believe you are a true snow lover. Max agrees. You have cursed us for the winter.

I promise more snow next yr, of course it won't b 2 hard 2 beat this winters total.

too little, too late. A year is a long time to wait.
