Forecast: April Gets Off to a Rocky Start
We will continue to battle between warm and cold weather regimes this week. This battle will include frequent chances of rain or showers, although the week will not be a total washout. Those readers ready for 70s and sun, take solace that it isn't April 2007. Last April, after a brief warm start, we had 17 consecutive days of below normal temperatures including 0.4" of snow on the 7th. That doesn't look to be in the cards this year. Be patient.
Morning fog, afternoon showers. Near 70. Our cold, misty wedge will finally retreat tomorrow, albeit briefly. Ahead of an approaching cold front, temperatures will easily warm into the mid to upper 60s, with 70 degree readings possible. We may even see some sun. Later in the afternoon and evening as the cold front approaches, showers and a possible thunderstorm will become likely (60%).
Overnight, any lingering showers will yield to clearing skies and freshening winds out of the northwest. Low temperatures will dip to the low to mid 40s.
TOMORROW
Sunny and Breezy. 55-60. Wednesday will be sunny, breezy and seasonably cool. Afternoon highs will reach the mid to upper 50s accompanied by a stiff northwesterly breeze.
Overnight, it will be partly cloudy and quite cold with lows dropping to the low to mid 30s.

THURSDAY
Cloudy, PM Showers. Low 50s. A chilly northeasterly flow will keep temperatures below normal in the lower 50s. We may see some sun in the morning, but clouds will be on the increase with a chance (40%) of some late day showers.
Rain chances continue overnight (40%) with lows in the low to mid 40s.
A LOOK AHEAD
The three-day period spanning Friday through the weekend will start off unsettled but should improve for the latter half. Rain chances continue Friday (50%) and will linger into early Saturday before high pressure takes over. High temperatures Friday and Saturday will be near 60. Sunday looks sunny with near normal highs in the low 60s.

What happened this morning? I couldn't open up the blog site, but drew a "blank".

The 6Z GFS jet had us in between two branches of a split pattern. Canadian lightning data primarily showed strikes in the middle Deep South centered in MS.
And what's this brain cancer issue with cell phones??? It's going to be far harder to swear off cell phones than to quit smoking cigarettes!
