Forecast: Weather That Makes it Hard to Work
Did your work productivity drop during the sunny and warm middle to end of last week? This week will again finish in fine form. And you may want to take advantage of the nice weather -- maybe a conveniently timed "sick" day? -- before clouds and the chance of showers return for the weekend. Then again, if you're an allergy sufferer, you may not have to fake the coughing and sneezing considering the pollen forecast.
Becoming partly to mostly sunny. Low to mid 70s. Early-morning low clouds and fog should dissipate by late morning, giving way to a partly to mostly sunny day with highs in the low to mid 70s. Tonight, partly cloudy with lows in the mid 50s and a slight chance of a sprinkle or light shower.

Partly to mostly sunny. Upper 70s to near 80. Not much to say, other than another nice day is on the way. Mostly sunny skies should warm high temperatures into the upper 70s to near 80. Overnight, mostly clear with lows ranging from the low 50s in the burbs to the mid to upper 50s downtown.

A LOOK AHEAD
The good times roll for one more day, with partly to mostly sunny skies on Friday as highs reach the mid 70s to near 80. Friday night, clouds could be on the increase, and could produce a few showers, as the next cold front approaches. Confidence: Medium
The forecast for Saturday depends on the timing and juiciness of an approaching cold front. For now, I'll call for a mix of sun and clouds early as highs head for the 70s, then becoming mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and into Saturday night. Confidence: Low-Medium
It's unclear whether clouds and showers will linger into Sunday. At the very least, I think there's a chance we'll see sunshine emerge in the afternoon, which would probably boost highs into the 70s. However, if we stay mostly cloudy, then temperatures might not get out of the 60s. Confidence: Low-Medium

So... why do we have to have more RAIN this weekend??? Didn't we "bust" the drought earlier this week?
It's no fun having this weather on workdays only to get the downpours when we have to run our weekend errands. At least I have no big dances this weekend (that comes up Friday May 2!), but I would like to finish my errands on Saturday so it can rain all it wants to on Sunday. Also have that darned Virginia income tax to finish up. It's due a week from tomorrow. (At least in VA we don't have to finish up EVERYTHING by April 15 like they do in a lot of other states!)

WSL -- Certainly a better chance than this morning. I can't guarantee you'll see the sunrise tomorrow morning -- since there may be some lingering clouds from a weak front passing through overnight, and there's still the potential for a few spots of early-morning fog -- but coverage for any clouds or fog would probably be patchy at best, rather than the solid swath we saw this morning.

Hey Weather Gang,
Totally unrelated question. I'm a low-time private pilot. What would you guys think is something pilots should know more about? I'm just starting to figure out skew-t charts, and the idea of frontal slopes seems to be of some value.
