Forecast: From Good to Better
Weekend weather somewhat uncertain
Finally, a nice pattern will establish itself over the next couple of days. Chilly weather today will trend mild by Friday with the sun as the common denominator. Enjoy what we get this week, as the weekend weather is more uncertain, and possibly a letdown.
Sunny, Cool. Near 60. After a chilly and perhaps frosty early morning start, temperatures will rebound quite nicely in the afternoon. Expect lots of sunshine, with a cool northerly breeze and highs in the upper 50s to around 60. (5-10 degrees below normal).
Overnight, it will be clear and quite cold once again. With weak westerly winds, frost remains a concern, especially outside the Beltway. Low temperatures will range from the lower 30s in the suburbs to upper 30s in town.
TOMORROW
Sunny, delightful. Upper 60s. Another chilly start will quickly yield to a classic spring afternoon. Look for abundant sunshine with high temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.
Overnight, high pressure will remain dominant. While the risk of frost is slight, low humidity and clear skies will allow temperatures to drop to the upper 30s to low 40s.
Confidence: High
Keep reading for the forecast through the weekend. See PopeCast for the forecast for Thursday's Papal Mass at Nationals Park.
A LOOK AHEAD
Thursday and Friday currently look awesome. Highs in the low to mid 70s on Thursday will rise on Friday, perhaps nearing 80. Skies will be sunny. Confidence: Medium-high
Saturday does not currently appear as promising as the days before it, but it just may be alright. Look for partial sun with increasing clouds and highs in the low 70s. An approaching storm system may launch some showers in the evening and overnight hours. Confidence: Medium
Sunday does not look as fortuitous. Precipitation is a bit more likely, but not a given, with some cloudiness and highs in the 60s. Confidence: Low-medium
