Awesome addition! Thanks!

If this was under Goff's bi-line, he would stop the rain.

Thanks CWG.
Soccer was meant to be played in cold wet conditions by tough men and women who wear shorts in this weather.

Although it has been around since January, I didn't know about this blog. Now I have another blog I'll be addicted to on this website. What isn't a blog?

BRRRR, same weather as the harbour view game. have you guys accounted for that nasty circling bowl wind that takes the chill off the concrete and injects it into your bones?
Vamos United!

Posted by: El Muñeco | April 4, 2008 4:03 PM
Thank you! It's great that you've answered our prayers. As someone criticized you last year for not doing this, I'll shut up now.

Thanks for all the great comments, folks. We're excited to provide this resource to United fans throughout the season.

The heavy stuff isn't supposed to come down until around 11.
Thx,
Jay!

Just piling on. Thanks for the forecast, thanks for the feedback, and thanks for helping the WaPo retain some of the hometown Washington feeling.

Excellent stuff. Though the Eagles and Barra don't seem to notice the elements, I'm sure everyone will appreciate it.

been hearing that this rainstorm is moving slowly - has the forecast for the game changed?
Posted by: hoyanick | April 4, 2008 7:29 PM
hoyanick-- Yes. The front now looks like it's going to slow down with higher rain chances. We're going to need to up rain chances a bit. Keep checking back.
Posted by: Jason, Capital Weather Gang | April 4, 2008 10:24 PM
Does this mean a dry(er) night than earlier forecasts - will we be able to PLAY soccer tomorrow morning ?
Posted by: MDScot | April 4, 2008 11:13 PM
MDScot-- Since it looks like the rain we were expecting overnight now may stay to our southeast, you might have a decent window to play tomorrow morning.
Posted by: Jason, Capital Weather Gang | April 5, 2008 12:22 AM
With everything slowing down and pushing east, how are things looking for Sunday? We have a game early afternoon in Crofton.
Posted by: JB | April 5, 2008 8:18 AM
You get it; I get it -- Thanks!!
Posted by: Coach.Doug | April 5, 2008 9:33 AM
JB-- Most of the rain should be done by early afternoon tomorrow, but it may still be kind of cloudy... and cool.

Thanks for making this neat little app. Is there a way we may use it on our blogs and such? Maybe an app that auto updates information per match would be awsome too! Thanks for doing this for us United supporters! VAMOS UNITED!!!!

This is awesome, Thanks!!

This is nice! Excellent idea; hope it works from a marketing perspective too.

Rain is on the way, but may be limited on the north and northwest side of D.C.
During the last few hrs. cloud movement from the se to nw has developed in my area vs an earlier sw to ne. Winds have shifted from north to east, and radar returns are popping over east Tenn. and sw Va.
I am expecting around .50" tonight, and early tomorrow.

Today was supposed to be a rainy day. What happens? A sunny and delightful day. I can understand missing a snowstorm when it goes fifty miles west and turns out to be rain but how did this happen?
Posted by: No rain | April 5, 2008 7:04 PM
No rain: Read our forecast. We did not call for rain today.
Posted by: Jason, Capital Weather Gang | April 5, 2008 7:36 PM
No rain:
It all depends on the whims of "Mother Nature".
The strength of the subtropical ridge offshore and the digging ridge from the ne, to the nw of us,is in control of the moisture feed. Depending on the position of the front, we are "high and dry", or wet. The front position is very important to the flow of moisture.
We simply don't have the intelligence with our "models" to predict this with accuracy. We often delude ourselves with our "high tech." capabilities but this is only a phantom comfort.
Mysteries beyond our understanding, exist both short term and long term.
Posted by: Augusta Jim | April 5, 2008 7:52 PM
The last pulse of the offshore ridge was strong enough to force moisture north, because RAIN is now beginning in the Central Shenandoah.
8 pm.: light rain, se breeze 5-10 mph, 55 degrees.
Posted by: Augusta Jim | April 5, 2008 8:05 PM
.05" rainfall during the past hour and picking up a little in intensity. Temp. has dropped to 49 degrees.
Bring it on!!!!
Posted by: Augusta Jim | April 5, 2008 9:04 PM
No Rain -- Just to expand on Jason's response, if you look back at our forecasts all the way back to Monday, you'll see we never called for more than the possibility of morning showers and a 50-50 chance of rain during the day today.
