CommuteCast: Work Week Ends Quite Warm
Pleasant start to weekend on Saturday
Morning cloudiness quickly gave way to mostly sunny skies today. Temperatures have responded by rising into the low and mid 80s (with an upper 70s 3 p.m. reading at National Airport, thanks to winds off the river) so far this afternoon. Winds from the south will keep temperatures comfortable during the evening as they slowly fall through the 70s near and after sunset.
Tonight: Friday night plans will be unaffected by weather troubles. Partly cloudy skies will dominate, though they may trend mostly cloudy by morning, and temperatures will be above average for lows. The suburbs can expect to fall to the mid or upper 50s, while D.C. stays right around 60 degrees.
Tomorrow: Saturday will start off partly cloudy, but by afternoon clouds will be on the increase. Highs will once again rise to near 80 in most locations as southerly winds continue. By evening, a squall line associated with a cold front could be affecting areas well to the west. This line may dwindle as it arrives while the main energy spins through Canada. However, it is still likely that rain showers and maybe some thunderstorms will move through the area overnight.

In April we had rain every weekend in some form. DCA saw rain on the 6th, the 12th, the 20th, the 26th and 27th. The last two weekends of March were rainfree, but those before featured at least one day of rain. If not raining, the weekends have often been bookended by much warmer weather.. so it's been a long stretch since we've had a totally "perfect" weekend around these parts.

For a change, tonight's dance forecast looks to be generally precipitation-free. How much rain we could get Sunday remains in question. When is the last time we had a COMPLETELY precipitation-free weekend??? I bet it was some time during our snow-free bummer of a winter!
