We welcome day two of the best four-day stretch of weather this season. How nice of it to fall squarely over the holiday weekend! Enjoy all the sunshine and the slow warming trend...
Sensational sunshine. Mid 70s. Cool Canadian high pressure delivers delightfully pleasant air. Enjoy a refreshing breeze (10-15 mph) from the north, blue skies and comfortable temps climbing into the low to mid 70s during the afternoon.
Clear tonight with lows dropping into the chilly mid 40s in the cooler suburbs to the low 50s in town.
Confidence: High
Keep reading for the forecast for Sunday into early next week. See NatCast and UnitedCast for the outlook for today's games
TOMORROW
Spectacular sunshine. Upper 70s.If you can imagine a day just like today with less wind and temperatures five degrees warmer, you've got tomorrow. It won't yet feel like summer, but definitely late May-like.
Clear skies once again at night, with milder low temperatures ranging from near 50 in the cooler suburbs to the upper 50s downtown.
Confidence: High
A LOOK AHEAD
Memorial Day, representing the unofficial start of summer, will be summer-like. We'll have a light southerly breeze, another day of full sunshine and get this: temperatures will finally get over the 80 degree hump (it hasn't been higher than 80 in over two weeks. Highs in most locations will range from 81-85. Confidence: High
The warmth continues Tuesday, but some showers and storms are possible late. Highs should be in the low 80s. Confidence: Medium

Getting the Slip and Slide out for the kids on Monday!!!! Nice that summer has finally decided to arrive and that we actually get a Memorial Day weekend without the chance of rain in the forecast at all.

It looks like the upper-low over the Canadian Maritimes is throwing some cooler temps in the middle atmosphere back over our region. Should just see some fair weather cumulus.

Kathy -- A bit harsh of an assessment, no? Believe me, we don't mind taking the blame when we blow a forecast. But, while it was a bit cloudier than expected at times today, there was still a good amount of sun, and temperatures made it to the low to mid 70s across the area, as predicted.

I will take every cool day I can get if it means one less day of DC summer. Remember August? And sweat that doesn't work cause it's too humid out? And not being able to have the windows open? And the 150 degree car? And the mosquitos? And the suffering?
I'm starting to get depressed just thinking about it.

SCA lifted for today - I'm off to the boat! I hope that 10-15 mph breeze holds up all day.
