New Gang Members and a Chance to Be One
Over the past month, you've probably noticed the appearance of "guest" forecasters and writers here at the Capital Weather Gang (CWG) blog. After a short trial period, I'm pleased to announce all of these guest contributors are new members of the CWG. Please join me in welcoming Steve Tracton, Brian Jackson, and Matt Rogers. Their bios are now posted on the "Meet the Gang" page (photos forthcoming). All three are degreed meteorologists and we're excited to have them aboard.
As much as the Gang has grown, we're in the hunt for one more talented contributor. And it could be you...
Keep reading to learn how you could become a member of the Capital Weather Gang. See Josh's full forecast through the weekend and check out NatCast for tonight's game .
The ideal CWG candidate will have their hands on the pulse of the local weather world and a knack for finding fun, entertaining and relevant topics to write about.
We're not looking for a forecaster but rather someone to spice up our mix of non-forecast content. So you don't have to be a meteorologist to be considered.
You do, however, need to write well, convey personality in your prose, have a lot of creative ideas, and be passionate about weather. Ladies, please apply! The CWG could use some diversity. CWG contributors may earn some token compensation but no one does this to get rich. It's a labor of love.
If you're interested, email the Gang with two or more post ideas by Memorial Day. Also, briefly (in a couple paragraphs) tell us why you'd like to write for the Gang and what you have to offer. If we like your ideas and what you have to say, we'll contact you about doing a guest post or two and take it from there...

Welcome new gang members....what did Camden make them do to prove their worthiness and loyalty to the gang during initiation? :)

As of Friday May 30, I plan to take early retirement from NRECA. I will be getting a new computer at home and will be moving my e-mail address to GMail in the interim. IT here has warned me that I could be in for more spam that way since the NRECA spam filters might not be there.
