Yup, that's the third tornado warning from this system.

Yep, heading right for the LoCo bootheel. I have my wife and baby waiting in the lower level of the townhouse. I feel helpless here in DC. That first gust of wind is only ten minutes out it appears...

Man, the lower leg of this storm really seems to be intensifying as it heads into PW County. This is looking uuuuugly.

Storm just hit SE corner of Loudoun out of nowhere. Very very windy with decent rain and lots of lightning. Some of the strongest winds I can remember seeing here.

Impressive squall-line wind right at what appeared to be the front of the Bow echo TS line. The tents and carnival rides at the Fairfax Government Center seemed to take a bit of a beating.

It was pretty wild here in Fair Lakes - very windy and LOTS of lightning. Now it's dark and rainy, with some lightning still in the area.

The weather outside my office in Reston 10-15 minutes ago was the worst weather I've seen in 15 years in the D.C. area. Straight-line wind like I've never seen before.

Some serious winds, constant thunder, and a bunch of lightning strikes. No tornado sighting here.

Extremely heavy rain, lots of wind, dark black skies in downtown DC. Hopefully this will pass through quickly.

Holy expletive deleted!!! Unless you are in central Mont Co right now, you wouldn't believe what we are witnesing if we tried to describe it to you. The thunder/lightning is so rampent it literally sounds like a Giant running towards your house flickering a flashlight as trees are just bending in half and the rain swirls. Most amazing thing I've ever witnessed in my life. How I didn't lose power is beyond me. Now all you hear is the sirens of fire trucks.

About as dark and short term hurricane like conditions as I have seen for a long time here in Merrifield. Good news was it has passed quickly.

Not looking forward to the crawl back home to MD though!

Just watched the storm roll into downtown on M Street NW... eerily green skies, got quiet, and then all of a sudden the skies opened up. Crazy.

Mark I saw the same thing on 18th and Pennsylvania - pretty cool! I definitely noticed the greenish hue. Made sure I got outside to watch the gust front come through.

Not sure, I don't see any out front, but it could be down between Waxpool and Redskins Park.

I don't know if Rock Creek Parkway is closed (can you listen to WTOP 103.5 FM?) but I sure wouldn't drive there for a while.

Annandale. I tend to love bad weather when I'm safe inside, but this thing is trying to break into my house. :) Kitty moved at 3:13 from a window seat to an inner hallway floor.

I watched the crane in front of Reagan Airpot spin around 180 degrees due to the wind.... I am no more than 500 yards from the control tower and it became invisible instantly. Absolutely incredible.

No hail here (20th and M NW). Worst of it looks to have moved through, still dark skies but the rain's slowed considerably.

I haven't heard of any trees down on Rock Creek Pkwy, listening to WTOP. There are trees down on 267 at the ramp at 123, and from 123 to the outer loop of 495.

Here in Reston, hails the size of tennis balls are falling as well as couple of trees...oops there goes my trash can

The hail was relatively small, but big enough that I could see it through the window. I would say about half the size of the m & m's I am eating.

WTOP just confirmed Dulles ARC's tornado on Annandale Rd in West Arlington/Falls Church area.

It was so still in downtown DC and saw the green sky for a minute as well, right before the storm hit. The only other time I remember the sky getting like that, and the wind being like it was today, was in '99 during a derecho we had in Syracuse, NY. Wonder if that is the case here?

Annandale - not Falls Church...a trained spotter per the NWS. Doug Hill has been talking it up as well...right on Annandale Rd.

Typical weather guys, getting the facts wrong. 236 runs from Fairfax over the Beltway into Annandale out to Alexandria. It DOES NOT touch Falls Church. Annandale Road does, yes, but that's not 236. 236 is Little River Turnpike. Grew up here and have gone through many of these before.

I am in Falls Church at Washington Blvd. and Annandale Rd. in a building with floor to ceiling glass windows and although there is a nasty storm, there certainly hasn't been a tornado here.

It's settling down out here in Loudoun, Lori. It wouldn't shock me if there weren't some trees down in and around the Leesburg/Ashburn area.

I am in an office building in Chantilly-- when the storm hit here our super heavy duty windows were bowing inward and outward. I've NEVER seen anything like that, even during other tornado warnings for the area. I couldn't see a single thing outside the window. Nothing. Just a deep dirty gray color. When it got light enough you could see the trees right outside the building whipping around like rag dolls.

Washington Blvd and Annandale Road don't meet either.

For all the parents out there, incase you haven't heard, the schools held the kids inside while the storms came through the area (Loudoun County). They started letting the elementary school kids out about 40 mins ago so expect all the kids to be late getting off the bus.

Just had what looked like the highest winds I've ever seen here in Columbia. Could barely see across the parking lot and the lightposts were swaying back and forth.

They just released McLean HS students to go home.

I was a block from the Silver Spring Metro when it hit there. I was soaked to the skin by the time I had gone half a block. The lights at Wayne Avenue went out just before I had to cross. The rain was so heavy it hurt when the drops hit. You couldn't look up to see where you were going.

Home and drying out now with the weather radio going.

It took down a 30+ ft tree (rare in Loudoun County) in backyard and broke fences.

Commute advice. . . so I am in Falls Church at Annandale and Washington St., and I have a 7:30 appt. in Fairfax City, and I live in Ballston. . . would y'all cancel the appt in Fairfax City? I would be taking route 50 there and home.

The border fence (white picket) in my parents neighborhood in Lorton is missing, presumed blown away. Those are some of the strongest straight line winds I've seen in years. Power flickered here at work in McLean, and parent's power is currently out in Lorton.

I think the person who said he/she was at Washington Blvd and Annandale Rd meant Washington Street (which is the same as Lee Hwy/Rt 29 in Arlington and Fairfax Cty)in Falls Church. I haven't seen a confirmaton anywhere else (yet anyway) of a tornado in that immediate area.

Also a tornado touchdown report in Huntingtown, MD. With the similar spellings between Huntington and Huntingtown, one of those reports could be an error.

Supposedly building flattened at Hilltop Rd and Prosperity Blvd in Merrifield, VA. According to eyewitness and reported directly to me.

I doubt you'll have your outdoor game. The storms may stop, but the damage to the fields has been done. I wouldn't be surprised if they cancel all indoor activities as well just to keep everyone off the streets.
