Goodbye to the Hippy Dippy Weatherman
George Carlin passed away last night at the age of 71. One of his more well-known bits was a skit featuring a fictional weather forecaster named "Al Sleet," who issued insightful predictions such as, "Weather forecast for tonight: Dark. Continued dark overnight, with widely scattered light by morning." Watch the video below (Warning: includes offensive language) for Al Sleet's full forecast.
See our full forecast for the latest on the potential for storms later today, and the outlook through the weekend.

My all-time favorite comedian! . . . "folks I wouldn't sweat the thunderstorms since the radar has also picked up a squadron of Russian ICBM's" . . . so long Al Sleet :-(

George was sitting by the phone when the heart attack came. He reached toward, hesitated, cocked his head to one side, and said," Ah-h, F___ it, and just leaned back.

Aw, man! I was SO proud last week when I heard that the Mark Twain award would be (finally) given to Carlin. Well, Mark and George must be enjoying the get-together out there somewhere.
Supreme sadness for all of us that we'll no longer have a current voice of observant wit and protest to speak for us as only Carlin could.
Goodbye, Al - and it's all right now.

So sad, someone you were't expecting to hear die, like he was always going to around. He was one of the all time best !

I'm sad that he passed away. It seems like only yesterday that I first heard his weatherman skit.
