CommuteCast: A Shower or Thundershower
Warm and dry on Wednesday
July started on a beautiful note today, helping us move beyond the severe weather onslaught of June. Temperatures are now reaching highs in the upper 70s to low 80s throughout the area under partly cloudy skies and with comfortable levels of humidity. There is a slight risk of showers or thundershowers during the remainder of the afternoon and into the evening, but they should be few and far between.
Tonight: Following a slight risk of evening showers or thundershowers, skies remain partly cloudy overnight. Lows will reach the cool (for July) upper 50s in the suburbs to low 60s in the city. Winds will be light and from the northwest.
Tomorrow: We warm back up to near or above average temperatures on Wednesday under mostly sunny skies. Expect highs to reach into the upper 80s as a breeze from the west blows around 5-10 mph. At this time, it appears we may get through the day without the risk of rain.

I know it's not thunder tonight! More fireworks somewhere (way) to the west of my Silver Spring home.

I'm so glad there wasn't any severe weather this evening! I took the boat out, shouldn't have, given that I knew the gusts of 20mph or more at DCA were more than I could handle. And of course when I admitted as much and went to head in was when the engine quit. Never fails. :-)

I'm now wondering how July will shape up for severe weather.
Usually things calm down a bit from June.
