Alert: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Until 8 P.M.
If it's Saturday it must mean a chance of storms, right? The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 8 p.m. for the metro area. Storms that develop may be capable of producing dangerous lightning, large hail and wind gusts to 70 mph.
Chances look to be about 40% that any given location will catch a storm this afternoon or evening. Areas along I-95 and to the east look to stand the best chance of severe conditions. Periods of the afternoon and evening will be rain-free. Any storm activity should dissipate by around 8-9 p.m.
