Based on Thursday night's debate between Hillary and Barak--by far the best campaign moment I've seen so far--I believe their near unanimous plans for health care are both feasible and a major challenge to the near lack of a plan by any Republican that I know of. So, health care number one. On Iraq, lay back on the funding for now, but fight tooth and nail against McCain's(and Bush's)push for a hundred-year presence there. Number three: Immigration. Both are vulnerable on this topic because they express a modicum of compassion for immigrant workers. But I urge them to face down their Quixotic opponents as they charge the alien hordes while mounted backwards on their donkeys.

The Congress of the United States needs to seriously undertake legislation to prevent the oil industry from taking record profits whilst dragging the economy and consumers down. Exxon posted 40.3 billion in profits, yet is poised to become one of the pet beneficiaries of economic stimulus guarantees. This is simply not logical. It is high time that our elected representatives put our welfare before their investment portfolios. Now, I am not speaking about windfall profits taxes of old, but a more creative, less restrictive approach. If the Dow shows a quarterly profit across all industries of, say 6%, why should the speculative, self-driven market of oil be permitted to keep 16%? This effort needs the push of angry Americans, and it should exclude no party or demographic. Fair is fair.
