NRCC Still Lagging in Cash Race
Traditionally in Washington, bad news gets dumped on a Friday afternoon. The National Republican Congressional Committee just filed its latest fundraising report with the Federal Election Commission, though the news is more "mixed" than "bad."
The NRCC raised $7.1 million in March and $15.4 million in the quarter, and had $7.2 million in the bank as of March 31. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's report is not online yet, but the group has announced it raised $10.1 million in March, $20 million in the first quarter and had $44.2 million on hand at the end of the month. The NRCC's report does have one bright spot for the GOP: The committee reported no outstanding debt for the first time since August 2006.
