Pelosi Slams Bush for Israel Speech
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) lashed out at President Bush this morning and his speech to the Israeli Knesset, particularly for comments on "appeasement" that some have interpreted as a veiled swipe at Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).
"You know we have a protocol ... that we don't criticize the president when he's on foreign soil," Pelosi said when asked for reaction to Bush's speech, adding that she also believes Bush "should not criticize Americans when he is on foreign soil."
"I think what the president did in that regard is beneath the dignity of the office of the president ... and I would hope that any serious person would disassociate himself from the president's remarks," she said.
Asked whether she was referring to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Pelosi repeated: "Any serious person."
In his speech to the Knesset this morning, Bush said (see video below) "Some seem to believe we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along," adding that no one should be lulled by the "false comfort of appeasement." Obama has suggested that he would meet with the leaders of Iran and Syria to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian issue, though White House spokeswoman Dana Perino denied Bush was referring to Obama in his comments.

Let's see. While the President of the United States is abroad, the Speaker of the House slams him in public? Classy, Nancy. Real classy.

I don't have to contradict her; she did it herself.

Bush broke the rule, so the rule no longer applies to him. In fact, he's broken a lot of rules, so he should be declared guilty of lying to Congress, to the 9/11 Commission, and to the people, and summarily tortured and killed, like his administration has done to numerous detainees.

When the Nazi's were invading Poland, where was Prescott Bush? I guess Bush would now all about appeasement. His VP was making deals with Saddam, his grand-dad was doing serious business with the Nazi's. What a sniveling, sanctimonious little worm. Why doesn't he just go ahead and accuse Obama of having out of wedlock children with women terrorists! Thanks George, for making it so clear why we need to clean out the entire Republican Party from the government.

Bush is a child in a man's body. The Press should simply ignore his childish jab's and remove his bully pulpit by not reporting on them.

Oh, yes, thebob., Bush is a 'sniveling, sanctimonious little worm' and much, much more.
This is a man who has never, in his entire life, had an "original thought nor idea", he is a thoroughly "stupid, pathetic narrow-minded, lying, deceptive, poor excuse for a man and human being."
He should have been "tried and impeached" for "High crimes and Misdemeanors", a much more serious offense than Clinton's "in office" peccadillo.".
History will "portray him as one of the worst presidents, if not, "The Worst" to ever hold office, for his morality will be seriously questioned and answered.
Looking forward to the books that will be written where history will bear this out and for all the "unknowns" that will make "moral people, "cringe."

edwcorey,
You wrote, "Bush ... should be declared guilty of lying to Congress, to the 9/11 Commission, and to the people, and summarily tortured and killed." Wow! Doesn't that kind of talk earn you a visit from the Secret Service?
But, who knows? When Obama's socialist revolution -- er, inauguration -- takes place next year, maybe you can get a job torturing and executing American conservatives in the purge that follows, while President Obama goes to tea parties with al-Qaida.

"The lady doeth protest too much, methinks."
So typical of Liberals, to cry out in fit of indignant hubris every time someone tells the truth about them.
How dare the president tell the truth about these pariahs of appeasement?
Clearly this disproportionate response by Democrats is prompted by their presumptive nominee, the man who will carry their banner into battle in their bid for the Presidency of the United States is unsuited, illequiped, and unprepared to assume the duties and responsibilities commensurate with the office.
One only lashes out to this degree, and in such an ostentious display of self-righteous indignation when guilt is the primary motivating emotion.
They know they are guilty of the crimes to which President Bush referred and so naturally assume it is they to whom he was referring.
Bush just pitched a perfect game...and the Democrats are reeling from it. Thus the angry hyperbolizing.
Too funny!

It's strange that OUR government officials say, "WE will NEVER negotiate with terrorists!" but out of the OTHER side of their face, they say, "ISRAEL, YOU MUST GIVE UP THE LAND GOD GAVE YOU; and 'make peace' with your terrorist enemies who want you to be extinct from this planet!" I HATE WHAT OUR PRESIDENT IS DOING TO ISRAEL! BTW, thanks for the $600.00, Mr. President. But it still won't buy my loyalty to agree with your betrayal to the People of Israel.

The ignorance of this president is well known not only here in America but all over the world. He is a snide, cocky, small-minded, cruel, and incorrigible man. He never had a clue about how to represent our country.
Many Israeli's know, as most of us know, that Barack Obama is a brilliant, educated, charismatic, and diplomatic man.
Educated and thoughtful Israeli's also know that they have nothing to fear if Obama is elected president.
He is supported by millions of American's including Jewish men and women from all over our country. Obama is a red-blooded American who is one of the most able men to ever run for president.
It is ironic that we have two very brilliant, caring, candidates running for that office. Senator Clinton and Senator Obama are the best candidates we've had in decades. She has agreed with Obama on this issue. I have no doubt that who ever wins the Democratic nomination he/she, will get the support of the other.
If he were to debate GWB on this issue or any other issue, GWB wouldn't know what Obama was talking about. "Daddy Cheney" would understand only too well, but he is an expert at doing the twist and taking pot shots. Thank heaven, they will both be out of office soon.
It will take years to right the wrongs they have perpetrated and perpetuated upon our middle class and the poor, Iraq, our military men and women, the disabled etc.
Terrorist's have grown into huge numbers in the past 7 1/2 years. So it is apparent that the president has failed to communicate and has led us into disaster.
