Friday Morning Mix

-- In May, VH1 will debut Supergroup, the latest in their ever-expanding slate of reality programming. The press release promises that Ted Nugent, Scott Ian, Sebastian Bach, Evan Seinfeld (who?) and Jason Bonham "stand ready to thrash a new trail of carnage and excess and to lead the hard rock world as their new gods of thunder." Well, it's about time.

-- In Touch Magazine wins the headline of the day award with "Paris Hilton Looks Pregnant" (accent mine; right side of page). I mean, come on...

-- Jessica Alba is demanding Playboy pull issues of the magazine with a publicity shot of her on the cover. The pole-dancing actress ("Sin City") is concerned readers might be led to believe she appears naked inside.

-- "Bullsh**!" Dave Navarro's response to rumors that Slash may be rejoining Guns n' Roses ahead of the rumored release of the band's -- well, Axl's really -- new album.

-- Aging glamrocker Gary Glitter sentenced to three years in prison in Vietnam.

A quick look at Oscar Eve Eve buzz:

-- The Oped page has gone Hollywood: David Ignatius compares this season's best picture nominees with other war-era lists from the past 70 years. His conclusion: this year's list is far from typical. Charles Krauthammer speculates that Osama bin Laden would be proud to have penned "Syriana." And, finally, Richard Cohen on why "Brokeback Mountain" isn't that radical after all.

-- "Chronicles of Narnia," "Madagascar" and "March of the Penguins" all honored at the Movieguide Faith & Values Awards.

-- If you can't wait till Sunday, plan on watching Saturday's more down-to-earth (held in a beach tent) Independent Spirit Awards, this year hosted by Sarah Silverman ("Jesus is Magic").

-- Finally, Statler and Waldorf (those two grumpy old Muppets who sit in a balcony) make their own Oscar predictions.
