Friday List: Elvis's Pound Cake and More Famous Food

Let's pound some cake. Thankyouverymuch. (Mark Finkenstaedt/The Post)
Earlier this week, a friend and I ('sup, Francine?) were instant messaging about Thanksgiving and girding our bellies for some power-eating when she stopped the conversation by casually mentioning Elvis Presley's Favorite Pound Cake, which she proceeded described thusly: "You eat it and you feel the weight walking across the room afterwards."
This triggered a memory for me: Years ago, Martha Stewart looking on in horror as Aretha Franklin concocted her Queen of Soul Ham -- complete with ginger ale, coconut, yellow mustard and an entire box of brown sugar -- on one of the now defunct Martha primetime holiday specials.
So, of course I started thinking about celebrities and food and dishes endorsed by or inextricably tied to certain stars. So I started Googling and something weird happened. I noticed that many of the recipes linked to a particular celebrity made some sort of cosmic sense. Of course a pound cake is named after (old) Elvis and who but Alex Trebek, king of obscure facts, would contribute Tourtiere Trebek to the mix. I mean, what the hell is a "tourtiere" anyway? (I'm still not sure, but since it apparently involves ground pork, beef stock and an egg, I'm staying away). From Alfred Hitchcock's Quiche Lorraine (complex yet heavy) to Dolly Parton's Corn Pone (no explication necessary) the theory seems to hold true.

No, no, no. I ordered power loaf, not meat loaf. Duh. (Larry Morris/The Post)
Some are still enigmas, though. Angela Landsbury's Power Loaf and Liberace's Meatball Soup remain unfathomable.
We have, of course, the perfect ingredients for a Friday list. What dish and celebrity would make a great pairing? Nicole Richie's String Bean Casserole or perhaps Kanye West's Humble Pie?
Add your genius star-named concoctions to the comments area.
