That's cold. Paris told me she couldn't go out that night because she was "washing her hair."

Well, at least I still have Lindsay's number in my Bla- what? Man, you have GOT to be kidding me!

What about that Olsen girl? Oh, right. Doesn't eat dinner any more...

I think Mary-Kate split her pants and had to use the tablecloth to cover up.
While looking at the post-Globe party pics, kept seeing Sheryl Crow and wondering, why is she there? Why is she a celebrity or even famous? Does anyone know?

Posted by: Barb | January 18, 2007 9:09 AM

Sheryl had a Best Song nomination.

Rachael Ray's name is misspelled.

"I know I have a problem, but let me see if I can shake it one last time before I go to rehab."

On another note, is it me, or is Rachel Ray really annoying? There's something really hokey about $40/day and that EVOO thing makes me want to poke myself in the eye.

Dear Carolyn Hax:

Two years ago, I left my wife of six years (who I'd been with for two years before our marriage) for another woman. It was a stressful breakup, made more stressful by a storm of rumor and innuendo, and the fact that my new girlfriend - who has a murkier past than my ex - has consistently acted as if she is some sort of saint due to her recent passion for charity work.

I love my girlfriend very much, but lately she seems to have been growing moodier and possessive and jealous.

For example, she extended a trip out of the country so we couldn't have a pre-planned holiday dinner with my parents at our home. When my ex - who lives in the area - found out her former in-laws were stranded in town, she invited them over so they weren't left alone for the holiday. My girlfriend was furious, even though if we had just gone home like I wanted, it never would have happened.

This week, she attended a business function with me and would barely talk to anyone and I'm not sure she smiled all night. When we ran into an old friend of my ex-wife's and her husband, I was pleased to see them and tried to catch up and and regain common ground. My girlfriend was not at pleased and forced me to walk away from the encounter.

I do love this woman, but she seems so controlling now, and doesn't seem to want anything to do with the people who were a huge part of my life before I met her. To complicate the matter, we have a child together who I adore, but she has said that she loves the children she adopted before she met me more than the child we had together. And it seems she would rather adopt more children than have another child with me.

This just doesn't feel like a healthy relationship. What should I do?

Lohan in rehab, that is shocking and irritating. I had money on a March entry.

Maybe Mary-Kate spilled something on her clothes and used the table cloth to cover up the spill. She's on her own with the handbag and those shoes. Are the shoes velvet?

This is why you have to be careful what you wish for. For months I wanted Teri Hatcher to get a man so she could shut the heck up about not having one. Hopefully that doesn't bite me in the form of her going on and on about this one.I wonder if Seacrest is jealous.

Dear BP,

Have you considered taking some time away from relationships and getting to know yourself for awhile? It sounds as if you might feel pressured to accomplish too much and be there for everyone. Do you feel that those you love are draining your reserve?

Maybe you need some "me" time away from women and work. Are you truly happy in your situation? It's up to you to assess.

Sincerely,
Carolyn Hax's assistant

Petal: Every LiLo has its stitch (I'm not sure what that means, but I've wanted to say it for a while). She'll be back to shock and grate you once she busts outta that piece and ends up on the Santa Monica freeway with [insert Simple Life character here] at the wheel.

Is Lilo in rehab for drinking, eating disorder, having toxic friends?

CHASMOSAUR FOR THE WIN!!

Posted by: Bored @ work | January 18, 2007 10:52 AM

Yeah - Chasmosaur nominated for comment of the week/month/year. That gal's weird, unfortunately, and I'm guessing that even BP knows it on some level, even if he doesn't want to admit it. And where're her tats for the new people in her life - or are we past that phase now?

Posted by: Bogota | January 18, 2007 10:59 AM

i dunno, that tablecloth's kinda cute in a "i fell asleep on the couch in my undies and have to answer the door in a hurry" kinda way.

Posted by: b | January 18, 2007 11:06 AM

liz, a moment of silence, please, for Art Buchwald. i believe he was the master of snark.

Posted by: please | January 18, 2007 11:08 AM

Not bluto: True,so true about the bust out. I don't think she'll stay in until March, so I'm going with an early February date.

I have to pick Nicole Richie as her stitch. 1) she's about the same size as stitch, 2)she's got to be in rehab, since admitting that she's had enough drugs to put down an elephant, 3)I think she's familiar with that freeway. Is that where she got busted?. However, there is the possibility that Paris will want some of the attention and join them, hmmmmm....no I'm going with Nicole on this one. Nicole is her stitch.

Posted by: petal | January 18, 2007 11:12 AM

Agreed and let's not forget that the Eddie Murphy movie "Coming to America" was born in the mind of Mr. Buchwald.

*blushes* thanks :D

It's not like I was ever a huge fan of Pitt, Jolie or Aniston (however, love the blog, Liz - it's my guilty pleasure). But you just gotta sit back and wonder some days if Brad isn't finding himself a quiet corner and banging his head against the wall quietly, you know?

Posted by: Chasmosaur | January 18, 2007 11:27 AM

And we can't forget Buchwald's classic Thanksgiving column

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/23/AR2005112302056.html

He will be missed.

Posted by: Chasmosaur | January 18, 2007 11:29 AM

He will indeed. I loved his video on NYT...How nice to be able to choreograph one's own exit. And with such grace and humor.

Courteney Cox looks GORGEOUS lately.

When did she stop going by Cox-Arquette?

SO predictable that the Queen of Insecurity, Angelina Jolie, "finally gave an awkward hello before leading Brad away." Man, that is just PATHETIC. I think she wants them to have no friends or family around ... no competition. And how much of a weakling is Brad to let her lead him around by the nose? Hmm. Anyone care to take bets on how long that union will last? Will Jolie get tired of Pitt or will Pitt get tired of being controlled by a mental patient?

Posted by: San Diego, CA | January 18, 2007 12:46 PM

I just cringed reading those comments from Teri Hatcher about her new man. Most beautiful human being on the planet? Lordy. She's dated him for about 5 minutes and is obviously in lust, which is fine ... but chill, girl. Take it slow. Take a breath.
