Call me paranoid, but I think that the only rational response to someone (not the cops) HANDCUFFING himself or herself to me is to take my free hand and beat the crap out of the cuffer. Knock the loser out, get un-cuffed, and press charges, because seriously, that is one f-ed up stunt to pull.

Oh Madonna, we reap what we sow, what comes around goes around, you get back what you give & all those other cliches.

After all those years of her being a "role model" to young girls & now she doesn't want her own daughter to do what she was doing & promoting?

Not that I think the kid should be wearing thongs above her low riders either but Madonna was the one that wore her bra outside the outfits & now she's just getting a taste of her own medicine & all the above forementioned cliches.

I certainly think that handcuff gal should spend at least a few days sitting in a piss-smelling jail cell. For god's sake what's next, kidnapping? Rape on video? What makes it worse is that it was a set-up and professionally produced and photographed. Hugh Grant was very patient, and I'm just happy that it was handcuffs and not a knife that woman had. Being an actor doesn't mean you should have your body taken over by a stranger like that. Very disturbing.

The NY Times has the same AP article about Diddy that the WP does, but in the NYT version where it quotes the police spokesman Jason Lee, there's a link to a bio of the actor of the same name. (Unless it really is the cop who is the "puppy-eyed professional skateboarder turned actor" who has "created a reputation for himself as one of the more talented and underrated actors to emerge from the 1990s indie scene.")

Re: Madonna. The best part for me is that she said "have a go". She's completely British now, right? Her affected accent is hilarious.

Hugh Grant would have been justified to do a "Naomi Campbell" on that idiot.

Bravo to Angelina for her refugee work with the UN and going to Darfur.

Please stop inviting P-Diddy to parties. Every time the man leaves the house he gets into trouble. Stay home, P.

Just want to comment on Angelina's excellent piece - as one who put her on my "love to hate" list...boy, was I wrong. Her humanitarian efforts are not "just for show" - she has seen and heard horrific things...and she keeps going back.

Why can't Paris afford a chaffeur?? If I had that much money I would be driven everywhere!

Looks like Isaiah Washington isn't the only one with ensemble cast issues on Grey's. Twould be a shame if such a great show died because its cast was bickering and refused to gel.

How do you not know if your drivers license is suspended? I know someone who did that and ended up getting 3 days in jail for driving on a suspended license, there was no speeding or drinking or drugs involved. I doubt Paris will serve a day in jail or even do community service.

Angelina Jolie's always been on my love-to-hate list as well, but her op-ed was outstanding. I don't know if I agree with her premise that "the worst people in the world fear justice", though. A lot of really evil people are motivated by things justice won't cure -- especially if they believe somehow that what they are doing is right. The death penalty, for instance, hasn't been proven to deter crime.

On a lighter note -- didn't skeleton Beckham say that "the Cruises" would be wearing her designs to the Oscars and she was going to do some weirdo his-and-hers matching thing? Funny that they wore Armani ... heh heh.

You know what? It isn't cool to handcuff yourself to someone -- ordinarily.
But this was Amsterdam! The rules are different!

Old Mother's Curse...
Someday you will have a child just like you!!
Scary thought for most of us, but consider...

also consider, will & jada, a jolie, k bacon & k sedgewick,

its a good curse really.
