Ooops - double posted again. Sorry
But I REALLY meant what I said. ;-)

Rosie: How come you treat Hasselbeck better than the rest of us?
Posted by: byoolin | May 29, 2007 9:12 AM
"I was really just like a foster kid for a year," [Rosie] said. "I came, you know, we considered adoption, but I didn't really fit into the family and now it's time for the foster kid to go back home."
WOW. No one knows how to throw herself a pity party like Ro.

how can rosie never speaking to someone again be considered anything but a Godsend?
and while i really like ewan mcgregor and applaud what he is doing, i think the word "boned" means something entirely different to the british world!
hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend. thanks for the mini mix yesterday liz.

After what happen Sunday Morning, whose idea was it to take Lindsay to alcohol laden BBQ?
Posted by: Lisa1 | May 29, 2007 9:44 AM
I wouldn't say Rosie ever really "spoke" to Elizabeth, I'd say it was more like yelling.
I used to love Rosie & now I just think she needs meds & lots of them.

Good call on the Kurtz link - read it yesterday and it seemed like a natural fit.
Wondering which of you or Howard will address the irony of WPost hyping a female athelete who feels she gets too much hype and attention (even providing a link to the "unofficial" fan site with the photos she doesn't want to share). Is this how real celebrities are made - or do they require scandal and exhibitionism?

I used to like Rosie, too, even though I've never agreed w/her politics. Her politics, her lesbianism, her weight had nothing to do with whether I liked her or not and the thing that really irks me is that she wields all those things like a weapon, bludgeoning people with her opinions and her bitterness. I know plenty of opinionated, overweight, politically liberal lesbians and i like them because they don't try to tell me what I think and why I think it. It offends me to hear Rosie say that people like Elisabeth because she's "pretty, pure, Christian Elisabeth" and that they don't like her because she's an outspoken overweight lesbian. If she really believes that, she has very little respect for anyone's intellect other than her own. And by her actions I think that's been borne out.

I am somewhat torn over the whole Rosie/Elizabeth saga. I am not a fan of the View or of either parties, but as an opinionated overweight liberal hetero and the fact that Elizabeth Hasslebeck is as dumb as a box of rocks, it wasn't much of a debate. It is easy to pick on someone who can not coherently form their own opinions, but instead spew talking points she heard on Fox News. Rosie was upset with Elizabeth because she would not defend her against false statements that right wing pundits would attribute to her and from watching the infamous video, it is obvious that Elizabeth believed what the pundits were saying. I think I would be a little miffed myself.

Nicely said methinks!! Rosie you would do all society a favor if you just could not talk publicly anymore. Stay at home, be a good, positive role model for your kids. Please, please get medical help for your anger and what looks like acute narcissim and depression.

I really hope I would not have to be the one to say it about Rosie. Thank you SoMD, Byoolin and everyone else who begged Rosie to never to speak to us again. Methinks, you are so right. Rosie acts like because she is a lesbian we must agree with her, if we don't we are homophobic. Or fatophobic or whatever personal attribute she is feeling victimized about today. Oh, and as a conservative, trust me Elisabeth is not parroting the FoxNews talking points right (she can't remember them). The only thing right away about that bimbo is her arm.

I'm sure Elizabeth is in tears that she doesn't have to see or talk to Rosie anymore. May the rest of the planet be that fortunate.
"seemingly inebriated" that's cute. Why isn't she in jail and how does she keep getting jobs? Another thing, does it look like she's posing to anyone else?
Posted by: petal | May 29, 2007 11:29 AM
petal, i kind of thought she looked like she could be posing, too, until i saw the photo of her throwing up in the bushes. then again, why would she pose such pics less than 24 hours after being cited for DUI? (but on the other hand, no one ever accused her of being a genius...)
Posted by: methinks | May 29, 2007 12:15 PM
Well, Rosie DID say it -- no one was "telling lies about her", she just is incapable of owning her story. I wish Rosie would treat all of the America like she does Elizabeth Hasslebeck -- not say a word to us every again. NO more vile, detestable, lying human being walks the planet than Rosie!

Anyone want to join a pool that Lindsay Lohan will end up like Anna Nicole Smith?
I know George Clooney was joking, but I actually agree with him. Pitt is no doubt good with the plethora of kids that keep multiplying around him, but Jolie is a nutcase. She doesn't appear to have any friends; I'm surprised she lets Brad even talk to George Clooney or have friends of his own.
Posted by: Blech | May 29, 2007 12:48 PM
methinks,
Yeah hurling in the bushes kinda trashes my theory but the way she's lying on the seat mirrors a magazine spread. Maybe the driver had something to do the look because she doesn't seem to be trying to cover up LiLo's face.

Rosie/Elizabeth squabble...who cares
Lindsay Lohan issues...who cares
Paris Hilton issues...who cares
All of the "experts" who chime in on all of this "news" just to get their mug on TV...who cares
Why doesn't all of these folks channel their energy and hostility toward the Oil Companies to shame them into lowering the gasoline prices for everyone!!

I like Rosie. Her behavior has been odd lately and a little disconcerting but I'm glad she was on The View. It's interesting that so many people say they dislike her and yet the ratings for The View went way up--I wonder what will happen now that she's leaving?
Posted by: Anonymous | May 29, 2007 6:10 PM
I've only seen The View a couple of times, but it was long enough to realize Elizabeth is....boring. And I'd rather have a root canal than listen to Joy Behar, who has nowhere near as much to say as she thinks she does.
I've heard more interesting convos waiting in line at Giant.
Love her or hate her, there's a reason the ratings went up while Rosie was there.
Anything but boring. That's my motto!
