Uma's hands look large in that picture? Maybe it's just the perspective? Or maybe she really does have man-hands.

Posted by: methinks | February 14, 2008 8:39 AM

thank you PETA for yet another insightful and helpful commentary...

Posted by: sunnydaze | February 14, 2008 8:53 AM

hey methinks, I think Uma's hands and feet are pretty large - if you recall her bare feet in Pulp Fiction?

Also, Kathleen Turner - saying that it's what you remember is not an excuse for stating that someone was arrested multiple times - that is public info and easily researched.

Posted by: sunnydaze | February 14, 2008 8:56 AM

Re: Heidi. Further evidence that not everyone is special like they think they are. Perhaps her parents were tone-deaf and taste-poor and thought she really was something. Parents, don't let your kids grow up to inhale their own hot air.

Posted by: Anonymous | February 14, 2008 8:58 AM

Dairy? *Dairy?* Come on, PETA. I think the number of bald chicks would be much larger if dairy were to blame.

Posted by: DC Cubefarm | February 14, 2008 9:06 AM

school me, please, why did winkler testify in the wrongful death case? what did he bring to the table in the way of medical knowledge? why was ritter's mental/emotional state relevant?

and please...kathleen turner, either stand by what you write or don't write at all. you meant to be vindictive and mean, that was the tone, and you succeeded. why you thought no one would call you on your facts is another question.

Posted by: methinks | February 14, 2008 9:08 AM

What a great boyfriend O.J. is- blaming the victim! Gotta love that guy. (Then again, you have to wonder just how smart the girlfriend is for taking up with O.J. in the first place.)

In the picture that accompanied the article, Mary Louise Parker looks very pretty, EXCEPT for the ridiculous dress which looks more like a shirt.
Seriously, the only different between her "style" and that of Britney's (in that photo) is that ML's clothing and accessories match, she looks like she's bathed recently, and is likely wearing panties.
I don't disapprove of micro minis but the shirt/top/dress look is just. so. bad.

Posted by: methinks | February 14, 2008 9:20 AM

Hmmm....Heidi, you shot your video in 20 minutes on a home camera with a boom box...and you thought it would be good?

Britney's house has a library? Think she knows where it is? And while I'm sure she could use it, but doesn't the $86,000 a month on medical expenses sound awfully high?

Posted by: michael | February 14, 2008 9:30 AM

Wonderful, I finally get to read Celebritology again and what greets me but a photo of Colin Firth. Good way to start the day.

Here's hoping the reaction also made Heidi rethink putting out another song or video. Since I'm sure she will, I ask that she keep the crazy spirit fingers to a minimum and that she put up some serious cash for a decent director and singing lessons.

Ahhhh,John Leguizamo. He's one of those people I like but I don't know why.

Posted by: petal | February 14, 2008 9:32 AM

-I love the micro mini Mary Louis Parker is wearing. I can't wait for spring.

-It is nice to know I am not the only who thinks John Leguizamo is a bad actor.

- Let's be fair to Uma, don't most extremely tall women have large hands and feet.

Posted by: Lisa1 | February 14, 2008 9:34 AM

Funny, Heidi's video made me cry all night long too.

Posted by: DJ | February 14, 2008 9:38 AM

i'm all for spring (c'mon baseball!) but the micro-mini that should be a shirt leaves me cold.
seconding petal's emotion re: colin firth photo. that's right up there with baseball!

Posted by: methinks | February 14, 2008 9:46 AM

I am so over Nicole Kidman playing American roles. Her American accent is awful. Couldn't they have found a better blonde actress to take on the role of Plame? Uma, for example, would have been a much better choice.

Posted by: CLH | February 14, 2008 9:46 AM

I'm with you, methinks, about Winkler testifying in Ritter's wrongful death suit. The testimony he gave seems completely irrelevant.

I also wonder if a regular gal/guy had died of the same thing, would a wrongful death lawsuit even get this far? And would coworkers, friends, etc. be testifying about how fantastic the person's homelife/career were?

Posted by: glebe | February 14, 2008 9:50 AM

"Heidi Montag says reaction to her debut video made her cry."

Really? Because watching it made me want to throw up.

PETA, PETA, PETA. Dairy? If that were the case, as someone mentioned above, there would be a world full of head-shaving, crotch baring, Starbucks swilling people...oh...Never mind.

Posted by: millie | February 14, 2008 9:51 AM

Oh thank you, THANK YOU, Liz, for that picture of Colin Firth.

Posted by: musicgeek | February 14, 2008 9:55 AM

I, too, was happy to see Colin Firth, until I read the plot to Accidental Husband. Blech!

Posted by: Anonymous | February 14, 2008 10:09 AM

My congradulations to PETA for once again making a complete mockery of a serious issue. Keep up the good work.

Maybe Heidi realized that she looks utterly awful in that video. Unless she's really angling to be a porn star, those implants just don't work.

Posted by: EricS | February 14, 2008 10:14 AM

re winkler's testimony - I believe that this kind of testimony goes to damages, not causation. Of course Winkler, Ritter's wife and kids, etc. can't testify to medical questions, but they can all testify to what great guy he was, what a great life he had, what contributions he made to other's lives both personally and professionally, and things like that...

Posted by: sunnydaze | February 14, 2008 10:15 AM

Oh dear! I just read the plot synopsis for Accidental Husband and all I can say is, oh dear...what a waste of talent and energy and money and film and time and catering and good hair and everything. Yuckorama!

Posted by: sunnydaze | February 14, 2008 10:19 AM

Oh, Heidi. I get what she's upset about - it has to suck reading about strangers who really personally dislike you - but why, WHY would anyone read the comments about herself on US Weekly? Or anywhere? Comments are generally not nice, uplifting, or characterized by constructive criticism. I think a really good strategy, particularly for someone as widely disliked as Heidi, would be to stay off the internet.

Posted by: h3 | February 14, 2008 10:35 AM

why not get Valerie Plame to play herself? she's hot!

Posted by: iikamo | February 14, 2008 10:59 AM

"Brit has lost $60 million in a year, says onetime lawyer... "

Since when does the IRS give a rat's arse if someone's being ripped off, they only care about getting their share of that $60 mil

Posted by: Anonymous | February 14, 2008 11:05 AM

I'm neither an expert on dairy products or crazy people, but I think we can all agree that Britney's problems extend well beyond her consumption of the mighty moo juice. Maybe it's all of the psychoactive drugs and alcohol that she's taking between the milk breaks.

Posted by: MisterBear | February 14, 2008 11:31 AM

I'm not putting odds on the Mary Louise Parker marriage.

Another day, another celeb DUI/drug bust.

OJ Simpson's girlfriend (who bears a disturbing resemblance to Nicole Brown in that photo) brutally beaten ... hmm, gosh, that's strange, I mean it's not like he has a lifetime history of brutal abuse and murdered two people or anything. Not that any woman deserves to be brutalized for any reason, but holy cow woman, what were you thinking taking up with a known abuser and murderer?

Posted by: Californian | February 14, 2008 11:32 AM

Thank you, Liz!

I asked for a pic of Colin Firth on Monday, and you delivered on Thursday.

Happy Valentine's Day!

(Now, in the what have you done for me lately category, are we almost ready for a new Gerry Butler pic yet?)

Re: Britney's expenses

"Doesn't the $86,000 a month on medical expenses sound awfully high?"

Not when you factor in 2 to 3 one-night stays in a residential rehab per month -- 'cause I'm guessing they bill you for the full 30 days, which run about $20-25K each.

Then facotr in the pharmaceuticals, and viola, $86 grand.

Posted by: Math is fun | February 14, 2008 2:46 PM

Who'd have thought that the National Enquirer would get all the details wrong? she asked sarcastically.
TMZ is reporting that, according to the Miami police OJ's girlfriend was injured in a fall due to intoxication and OJ was not involved.

Posted by: TallulahBankrupt | February 14, 2008 2:53 PM

Forgot to add the link to the story on TMZ.

I don't think BritBrit lost $60 million because the Forbes estimate of $100 million net worth was probably bogus to begin with. They probably based the number on total revenue from album sales and endorsements, but the music and entertainment business is notorious for sleezy accounting tricks. 40 percent off the top for taxes. Then her manager gets 20 percent. Her agent gets another 10 percent. Lawyers, accountants, and publicists all get their cut. Brit probably ends up with only 10 percent of the total.

Posted by: Anonymous | February 14, 2008 3:02 PM

That was *OJ's* story -- that she fell while intoxicated. And let me just ask, who suffers "the worst bruises they've ever seen" (the doctors) and severe head injuries from a drunken fall?

I don't believe that story (told by, ahem, OJ!) for a second. He did it.

But then, I still believe he killed Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman. And I still think her parents killed Jon-Benet Ramsey. Occam's Razor: the simplest explanation is often the correct one.

OK, I'll get off my soapbox now.

Posted by: Californian | February 14, 2008 3:43 PM

Sorry, I was running low on my caffeine meter. After reading a bit more about this incident other places on the net I've got to agree with you Californian. I suppose even the Enquirer gets it right some times. ;)
ITA about OJ and the Ramseys' guilt.
P.S. Celeb gossip AND a reference to William of Occam in the comments!? This is why I love this blog!

Bai Ling was arrested for shop lifting. Guess we can add her to the every growing crime watch.

Posted by: Anonymous | February 14, 2008 4:19 PM

Bai Ling arrested... I guess she proved everybody wrong.
