Update, that video I just posted can be listened to w/o watching. you'll hear it better...

Pairs Hilton is barely convincing as hetero in her "movies", how is she going to pretend to be lesbo?
Posted by: yellojkt | February 6, 2008 8:26 AM
Paris Hilton = y.a.w.n.
Should we start taking bets on how long it is until Britney becomes a Scientologist?
Posted by: Pompous Magnus | February 6, 2008 8:33 AM
I cannot WAIT to see how Heather Mills represents herself in court! It's the best thing that could possibly happen in this case.
Posted by: surlychick | February 6, 2008 8:37 AM
So I just started reading the court papers. I didn't know that the "Sam" in Sam Lufti is diminutive for "Osama."
All is revealed to me now. All is revealed.
Posted by: Pompous Magnus | February 6, 2008 8:40 AM
Sam Lufti is beyond bad - he's crazy! Why didn't anyone - media included - do a public records check on him? If my daughter were a maaaaajor celebrity in a messed up situation, I'd have found out all the information I could about her hangers-on and then warned her/protected her/publicized the info.
Yes, and where is Tom Cruise and all those helpful scientologists, ready to run into a burning career because they're the only ones who can help....oh wait, that was burning car not career.

I am not a fan of Brittany Murphy, but I got to say she looks good in that picture.
Posted by: michael | February 6, 2008 8:53 AM
It's Lutfi people. t then f
Posted by: omni | February 6, 2008 9:00 AM
Paris Hilton should play Britney Spears in the Lifetime made for tv movie that is sure to be made now. You can' t make this kind of drama up.
Posted by: Anonymous | February 6, 2008 9:05 AM
Brittany Murphy looks a cheap doll (I'm sure she's not. Maybe it the makeup)
Posted by: Lisa1 | February 6, 2008 9:09 AM
So, Britney Murphy isn't pregnant?
Posted by: Anonymous | February 6, 2008 9:10 AM
Sorry for the misspelling, omni.
I'll try to show Osama LuTFi a bit more respect next time. ...especially seeing as how he's so deserving from all the good he's done in this life.
Posted by: Pompous Magnus | February 6, 2008 9:17 AM
You gotta love the writing at the NYPost, calling Heather Mills "[t]he one-legged former nudie model," etc. Poetry.
You know writers don't know anything about someone when they have to refer to Sam Lufti as "the 33-year-old man in the baseball cap" (AP). Not poetry.
(BONUS: Sam is on LinkedIn! How many "connections" does he have? Hmm.)
As for Britney Murphy? Great in "Clueless." Since then? Clueless.
Posted by: td | February 6, 2008 9:19 AM
As much as I am embarrassed to admit it, I read the deposition from Lynne Spears regarding Sam Lufti on the Smoking Gun. If only have of what it says is true, then Britney needs help and isolation from these types of people.
Posted by: jelo | February 6, 2008 9:23 AM
Sometimes media coverage can be good. If the media had even ONCE questioned who this guy was instead of sucking up to him for access, maybe Britney wouldn't be in the mess she is. Am I correct in thinking her downward spiral coincided with his comming into her life? Remember how collected she was in her first post-K-fed split? Something happened and I doubt it was a sudden onset of bipolar disorder.
As for Heather Mill represententing herself in the divorce -- hahahahaha hehehehehehe. Because she has done such a good job in presenting her case to the public, she will be fantastic in court. Judge: "30 days for shrieking."
Posted by: ep | February 6, 2008 9:33 AM
Geez. That Smoking Gun deposition about Spears is beyond bizarre.
Posted by: 23112 | February 6, 2008 9:35 AM
Oops, sorry for the Osama typo. I keep mixing up the f-ing t and f. Hmmmm...how to remember....I know: Lutfi is spelled TF, like WTF without the What.
Posted by: Rachelt | February 6, 2008 9:46 AM
I read Lynne Spears' declaration and only have one question. Is it really possible to charge a cell phone with a car battery? You learn something new every day.
Posted by: surlychick | February 6, 2008 9:49 AM
Full disclosure: I am not a fashion maven in any sense of the word. However, I'm failing to see what's really wrong with Britney Murphy's outfit other than she might need a different hat and the jacket's a little on the shiny side. Other than that, it looks like a relatively normal outfit, which for many celebrities is a miracle.
Posted by: CentrevilleMom | February 6, 2008 9:54 AM
Oh. It's spelled Lutfi, not Lufti. Thanks. I'll stop associating him with Lorna Luft now. (I was so confused. . . .)
Posted by: Liza with a Z | February 6, 2008 10:01 AM
On an unrelated note, this is friggin' hysterical. John Mayer in a Borat thong (probably NSFW)

If he who represents himself has a fool for a client...with appologies to Sir Paul:
Day after day,
Alone in the court,
The former supermodel straining for a retort.
The judge won't sustain her objection,
He just thinks she's a fool.
Though she has one leg to stand on,
She's a fool in the court.
Posted by: MoCoSnarky | February 6, 2008 10:10 AM
Hey. omni, irrespective of your need to correct everyone's Lutfi misspellings (which is really obnoxious -- let me guess, you were also the kid who reminded the teacher that she forgot to give out homework just as the bell was ringing, too, right?), I have to ask, what does that lame, boring Canadian electri-folk performance video have to do with Heidi's Hills? Or is it just some singer that you personally like that you decided to try to pimp out to the rest of us? Because if the latter, bad form.
Posted by: Huh? | February 6, 2008 10:10 AM
thanks for that 23112, looks like he could use a Boyzilian though.
Posted by: Anonymous | February 6, 2008 10:12 AM
My eyes! They burn! Gee thanks, 23112. Boy is he ever going to regret that (assuming that really is him). Doesn't look too comfortable either.
I need to go rinse my retinas now.
Posted by: td | February 6, 2008 10:13 AM
Oh, I think it's probably true. And it's on the Mayercraft Carrier (try Googling it), so he's either giving the fans his all, or he's so high he doesn't care.
Posted by: 23112 | February 6, 2008 10:21 AM
Brittany Murphy is an unfortunate victim of unnecessary Restylane-derived trout pout.
http://dlisted.com/node/22939
She looks like she was hit in the mouth with a bag of frozen peas.
Posted by: TallulahBankrupt | February 6, 2008 10:26 AM
Hahahahahahah, Heather Mills is representing herself, that statement about having a fool for a client was on point. I wish upon a star that the case gets covered by Court TV. I predict full on tears by the second sentence of her opening argument.
See that's how rumors get started I could have sworn Brittney was preggers from yesterday's photo.
How in the heck does Paris continue to get roles?
Posted by: petal | February 6, 2008 10:31 AM
The whole thing with Larry Birkhead taking his daughter to Anna Nicole Smith's grave, paparazzi in tow turned my stomach when I heard it on the radio. It definitely complicates the "Have the paps gone too far?" debate when some sort-of-celebs are doing stuff like that. Barf. I'm starting to feel a little dirty, so Liz, I'm glad you didn't link to that one.
But things like John Mayer in the Borat bikini keep me coming back...
Posted by: Sigh | February 6, 2008 10:33 AM
That John Mayer makes me laugh. Did y'all ever see that sketch comedy show he did on VH1? It was hi-lar-i-ous!
Posted by: Pompous Magnus | February 6, 2008 10:36 AM
Apparently the problem with Ms. Murphy's outfit is that it is suprisingly normal. SHe is not dressed in some outrageous outfit that are de rigeur for celebs.
Posted by: ep | February 6, 2008 10:56 AM
Wow, that suit looks uncomfortable. Major props to Mr. Mayer for being willing to wear something like that for his fans.
Another day, another weird Britney Spears story. I don't know who's worse for Britney, her parents or that Lutfi guy.
Posted by: EricS | February 6, 2008 11:04 AM
Ooh, I like that Rachelt, TF very appropriate.
Posted by: omni | February 6, 2008 11:04 AM
Re: Brittany Murphy. Maybe it's the cabby hat that's wacky about the outfit? I'm still confused if she's preggers or not. I can't tell.
Posted by: PGM | February 6, 2008 11:11 AM
To Huh?
The Emm video was to cleanse the visual aural palate. You got a problem with that?
The spelling correction. Was I the first to point this out? NO!
So you want to talk about bad form. Go right ahead.

For some fun viewing -
Vanity Fair has a retrospective of it's fold-out Hollywood issue covers. Well worth clicking through.
http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/features/hollywood_covers_slideshow
The thing that surprised me most? In the 1998 picture, Vince Vaughan actually approached hot - I forgot he had a jawline at one point.
And it's fun to note that despite VF's protestations, the women are usually under-dressed and the men generally look comfortable and clothed...
Posted by: Chasmosaur1 | February 6, 2008 11:25 AM
MoCoSnarky: Nice job with the Beatles song parody! And the sentiment is spot-on, as well.
Posted by: MisterBear | February 6, 2008 11:33 AM
I'm still trying to get over the PTSD suffered when I saw that hairy Borat in the banana hammock ... I don't think my eyes can take another sighting!
Posted by: Yuck | February 6, 2008 11:36 AM
"...despite VF's protestations, the women are usually under-dressed and the men generally look comfortable and clothed..."
And the problem with that is? Lol
Posted by: MisterBear | February 6, 2008 11:38 AM
PGM - re: Brittany Murphy - She must not be pregnant, as there has been no press release to inform of this portended event, nor magazine covers in high waisted dresses with low cut tops to advertise to us how wonderfully her maternity is going and how fabulous her boobs look (see also: Christina Aguilera).
Posted by: kvs | February 6, 2008 11:43 AM
Hey omni:
1. thanks for pointing out, THREE HOURS AFTER THE FACT, what the purpose of you crap-music pimping was, because, without your 11:15 explanation, who, except for the mind-readers, would've known what the connection was?
2. are you high? yes, you WERE the first person to point out the misspellings -- 9th post (yours) was the first reference to the misspelling of Lutfi's name in posts # 6 & 7.
So while we're talking about bad form, let's talk about mistatements of truth, as well.

Aren't we just supposed to snark at and criticize celebrities on this blog?
Posted by: Californian | February 6, 2008 12:55 PM
I agree Californian, let's keep our snark properly focused.

Except Larry Birkhead is another example of a celeb (or wanna be celeb) who calls the paps to follow him to every milestone his daughter has and will sell his story to anyone willing to pay... not sure how in this case the paps overstep if birkhead is the one rolling out the carpet...
Posted by: Anonymous | February 6, 2008 1:25 PM
wow Huh?. that seems like it took a lot of effort. glad to see you have such important things to work on today.
Posted by: Anonymous | February 6, 2008 1:28 PM
Sigh - just re-read your post (oops, so much for speed reading) and i think we agree... at first i thought you were blaming the paps for following him around, but now i just re-read and we're on the same page with larry being the media-youknowwhat in this case. oops :)

From td: "You gotta love the writing at the NYPost, calling Heather Mills "[t]he one-legged former nudie model," etc. Poetry."
Thanks for sharing that -- I spit iced tea out of my nose laughing!!!
Posted by: Anonymous | February 6, 2008 2:56 PM
Sorry, forgot to sign my post. Bad form. The iced-tea spitter above was me.
Posted by: Snarky Squirrel | February 6, 2008 2:56 PM
Isn't it pretty mean to call Heather Mills one-legged? I mean, the woman lost her leg when she was hit by a speeding police motorcycle, for chrissakes. It wasn't her fault. And plenty of models have posed nude!! I've never really understood the vitriol against her anyway -- do people hate her because she's not Linda McCartney?
Posted by: Californian | February 6, 2008 3:48 PM
Californian, the vitriol against Heather Mills didn't start until she and McCartney separated and she started claiming physical abuse and then her spokesperson got on tv talking about that Heather was so poor she had to drive a PT Cwooser, then that started all the gold digger jokes. The more she opened her mouth, the more people hated her.

I'm starting to seriously feel bad for Brittany. Seriously the girl needs help. Looks like she's out of the hospital again according to the LA Times. I hope Osama abides by the restraining order and leaves her alone.
Posted by: Marie | February 6, 2008 4:50 PM
Yeah - to anon @ 1:25. We agree :) I heard it on the radio and was like, ewww, I can't believe they cover that. But then it's like, well of course they cover it. HE CALLED THEM. But I totally disapprove of almost any and all Britney stories right now. I think the distinction between those cases is easy to draw, but there's a lot of grey area between being glad I read a story and wanting a shower...
Posted by: Sigh | February 6, 2008 5:30 PM
Not seeing what's wrong with the Brittany Murphy outfit. I dig the layering. She pulls it off.
