Mariah Carey says having kids would make her feel "violated".

She could always make them listen to one of her albums and get even, I guess.

Posted by: byoolin | April 23, 2008 8:31 AM

"Naomi Campbell attends opening night at Metropolitan Opera."

It must be hard for Maestro Armiliato to conduct when he's cowering behind the podium.

Posted by: byoolin | April 23, 2008 8:36 AM

Now that Scarlett is 'too old' for the plum movie roles, one can only hope that she clings to fame by agreeing to appear topless in every movie she ever makes from this date forward.

Posted by: byoolin | April 23, 2008 8:54 AM

Q: When did you hear that Marlee Matlin got eliminated from DWTS?

A: Before she did, that's for sure.

Posted by: byoolin | April 23, 2008 8:55 AM

byoolin has had more than the usual 2 cups of coffee this morning.

Posted by: jelo | April 23, 2008 8:56 AM

And I haven't even gotten to OJ yet...

Posted by: byoolin | April 23, 2008 9:01 AM

Byoolin, don't make me block your IP address!

Posted by: Liz Kelly | April 23, 2008 9:06 AM

It's because I'm an immigrant, isn't it?

Posted by: byoolin | April 23, 2008 9:13 AM

Can Amy Winehouse please get a new pair of ballet flats? Seriously, I can guess they're her favorite and it's nice to see a celebrity wear something more than once but those are some nasty shoes. She can afford to buy a new pair.

Posted by: PGM | April 23, 2008 9:13 AM

since the celebrity circus seems to be hurting for stars, think we could convince byoolin to be on the show? how are you at trapeze art byoolin? what about training lions?

Posted by: melissamac1 | April 23, 2008 9:15 AM

Perhaps we the commentators of Celebritology can buy her a new pair as a group and mail them to her in a care package. Along with a toothbrush, floss and mouthwash. And a comb. Maybe some nice anti-bacterial soap and a puff. Or a loofah!

Posted by: PGM | April 23, 2008 9:17 AM

Capital idea, PGM. I'm all for it. But ix-nay on the ballet flats. What she needs for her lifestyle is a nice pair of Crocs.

Posted by: Liz Kelly | April 23, 2008 9:19 AM

The thought of Mariah Carey procreating makes me feel violated so that little item made me pretty happy this morning.

Posted by: jes | April 23, 2008 9:21 AM

$100K for a 2-year-old's birthday party? Please, Tom, you are so cheap... why did you skip the fireworks and flying doves?

Posted by: glebe | April 23, 2008 9:23 AM

Hey, I have design problems with Celebritology, Liz: (1) the [super-adorable] pink and yellow banner doesn't link to the celebritology homepage so now I have to mess with the url to get there and (2) the homepage now only shows the latest two posts! I need more celebritology at a glance! Love the color scheme and the linky thingies, tho.

Posted by: h3 | April 23, 2008 9:24 AM

mel-mac1, I did string art in grade school, so I assume the trapeze isn't all that different.

As for lion-taming, I've got a hat. A lion taming hat. A hat with 'lion tamer' written on it. And it lights up saying 'lion tamer' in big red neon letters, so you can tame them after dark when they're less stroppy.

Posted by: byoolin | April 23, 2008 9:28 AM

I hear you H3 -- and have forwarded on your gripes to our designer.

Posted by: Liz Kelly | April 23, 2008 9:37 AM

John Mellencamp makes appearances for both Obama and rival Hillary Clinton

Well, I guess we already knew that John Cougar Mellencamp couldn't make up his mind!

Posted by: sunnydaze | April 23, 2008 9:40 AM

At the risk of sounding like a prude, I have had it with Kate Hudson. She really gets around. In school we had a name for girls like that. She's been in Boston lately, shooting a film. Has had a couple of very public, carefully choreographed photo ops with her son, but mostly she is out partying while her employees take care of him.

Last time she was in Boston filming a movie, not so long ago, she was with a different boyfriend, photographed making out with him at the gym. She countered that a day or two later with photos of her and the boyfriend spending some quality time with her son.

This child is quite young - I wonder how has she found the time for all these romances?

She'd better be a bit more careful, or she will blow that wholesome image she enjoys.

Byoolin: you are on a roll today!

Liz Kelly: how about a warning next time you direct us to terrifying, nausea-inducing photos of Amy Winehouse?

Posted by: new england | April 23, 2008 9:43 AM

Miley is getting a million dollars for each word she knows how to type.

Posted by: yellojkt | April 23, 2008 9:45 AM

Don't kid yourself yellojkt, she won't be typing it herself.

Posted by: sunnydaze | April 23, 2008 9:48 AM

New England - the words "Amy Winehouse" should be warning enough!

Posted by: Turq | April 23, 2008 9:53 AM

Totally off topic, but there was a rerun of "What Not to Wear" last night. They were making over a man, and almost the entire show was dedicated to explaining the evils of pleated pants and the need to rid the world of them. This man only owned pleated pants and shorts...I wasn't even aware they MADE pleated shorts! I could not help but to think of Celebritology each time they held up a pair to the camera.

Posted by: Lady_Jane | April 23, 2008 9:53 AM

Perhaps Scarlett needs to do more prestige period pieces. Might I suggest The Xaviera Hollander Story.

Posted by: yellojkt | April 23, 2008 9:57 AM

See the picture with the Cyrus article?

That's quite the smiley on Miley - she's got room for an extra row of upper teeth there.

Posted by: byoolin | April 23, 2008 9:57 AM

Amy Winehouse: Bring back Crack Ho Chic.

Posted by: yellojkt | April 23, 2008 9:59 AM

Thank you for the yummy photo of John Legend to start off my day! Mmmm mmmmm good.

And yes, Kate Hudson is quite the 'ho. Ick.

Posted by: jaybbub | April 23, 2008 10:02 AM

Why can't OJ be on "Dancing with the Stars"? He could partner with Tonya Harding.

Posted by: possum | April 23, 2008 10:05 AM

possum's onto something... You could exec produce A Very Special DWTS, also starring Robert Blake, Amy Fisher, Phil Spector and Vice President Dick Cheney.

Posted by: byoolin | April 23, 2008 10:14 AM

Yeah, for Mariah admitting she's too selfish for children. I wish more rich people would admit that; then we would have been saved from likes of Paris Hilton, Heidi and Spencer, and cast of "The Hills"

Posted by: Lisa1 | April 23, 2008 10:45 AM

Michael Moore also told the people of Pennsylvania that if they didn't vote for Obama, they were racists...the whole "now is your chance to make up for the sins of your fathers" thing. Oh well, I guess they showed him last night.

Posted by: 23112 | April 23, 2008 10:47 AM

Per the Scarlett Johanssen thing...
I read something about that earlier this week. She's still producing the film - apparently the heroine's role "skewed younger", and it seems as if she stepped aside, wasn't booted out.

Posted by: Chasmosaur | April 23, 2008 10:58 AM

Capital idea, PGM. I'm all for it. But ix-nay on the ballet flats. What she needs for her lifestyle is a nice pair of Crocs.

Posted by: Liz Kelly | April 23, 2008 9:19 AM

Crocs are never okay! Banish the thought! What would Robin Givhan say?

Sorry. Still traumatized by the former workplace, where several employees thought it was okay to wear these plastic bedroom slippers to work. Shudder...

Posted by: musicgeek | April 23, 2008 11:05 AM

Why is Kate Hudson consider a "ho"? As long as she uses protection, who cares? She has her own career, money, fame and kid. No one call John Mayer or Owen Wilson a "ho".

Posted by: Lisa1 | April 23, 2008 11:05 AM

Haha Jes-nicely done.

I find that Natalie Portman picture quite amusing.

Posted by: ASinMoCo | April 23, 2008 11:09 AM

Is her name now Beyonce-Z?

Posted by: Ame | April 23, 2008 11:17 AM

Normally I would defend my child-free by choice sisters, but there is no defending MC's statements. Its bad enough some people think we're selfish for not wanting to have children and then she goes and proves them right.

Don't know if its the drugs I'm on, but Byoo, you are especially funny this morning. I hurts too much to actually laugh, but I'm laughing on the inside.

Posted by: jake e. poo@home recovering from dental surgery | April 23, 2008 11:20 AM

Ame, "Beyonce-Z" would be too hard to pronounce. Just go with Be-Z.

jake e., it's the drugs. In fact, I just assumed this crowd was *usually* "hopped up on goofballs," as the kids say.

Posted by: byoolin | April 23, 2008 11:31 AM

Behold - the perfect footwear for Amy Winehouse.

The croc ballet flat.

Posted by: firedancerk8 | April 23, 2008 11:39 AM

Who cares about Naomi Campbell. I want to know if Alex and Simon (Real Housewives of NY) made it there on time this year.

Posted by: MoCoSnarky | April 23, 2008 11:47 AM

The Golden Globes needs to move its show up to June 29, 2008. That's the day before the Screen Actors' Guild contract expires.

Posted by: MoCoSnarky | April 23, 2008 11:52 AM

When the show first started I think Paula could have been on but now they have actual stars on DWTS and Paula simply won't' do.

John, precious you're supposed to be cozying up to me not Maria.

We don't need no stinking celebrity circus, Brit, Lilo, Paris and by the looks of her probably Lilo's sister put on quite a show.

Posted by: petal | April 23, 2008 11:53 AM

maybe since it's spring and getting warmer amy will retire her ballet flats for some nice sandals? doesn't croc make flip flops too? we could put those in the care package, and probably some foot powder since i'm pretty sure your feet would get pretty rank in plastic shoes.
and bylooin i applaud your glow-in-the-dark lion taming hat. me, all i can do is get the elephants to stand on three legs.

Posted by: melissamac1 | April 23, 2008 11:57 AM

Selfish feelings aside, I believe that in the interview, Mariah Carey admitted to being TOO STUPID to raise kids. This from the woman who titled her last album E-MC2.

"I don't think I could properly educate a child right now. Maybe in the future, but I actually haven't thought about it. . . . The whole not wanting to have a baby as a baby."

Yes, Mariah, at 40, you are still very much a baby.

Posted by: MoCoSnarky | April 23, 2008 11:57 AM

Scratch that bit about Paula and DWTS. I've just been informed that Shannon Elizabeth is on the cast.

Posted by: petal | April 23, 2008 11:59 AM

I was going to post that Donald Trump had too much class to let OJ appear on Celebrity Apprentice, but then I realized that it is impossible to put Mr. Trump and "too much class"in the same sentence. Besides, byoolin's post at 1014 was a lot funnier.

Posted by: Red dragon | April 23, 2008 12:13 PM

The dog who relieved himself on Natalie Portman must have just seen her acting in the Star Wars movies and thought she was a tree.

Posted by: Woodbridge | April 23, 2008 12:33 PM

Nice values you're teaching your kid there, Tom.

I literally felt nauseated looking at those photos of Amy Wine-o. What a disgusting mess she is. When was the last time that woman bathed?

Isn't a pooched-out belly a common indication of malnutrition/starvation?

Perish the thought of those nasty feet in sandals!!! Aaaargh! Given how filthy her fingernails are, can you imagine her feet?

Posted by: Californian | April 23, 2008 12:42 PM

Seems like a lot of Nicole's baby weight went straight to her lips. Haha.

Posted by: Californian | April 23, 2008 12:43 PM

If Tom Cruise is so concerned about having to -- being compelled to -- help people who he sees in need (that scary YouTube Scientology video), wouldn't that include his money? Surely Suri (try saying that three times fast) wouldn't mind. What a doof. Brad Pitt's efforts in Louisiana make him look like Mother Theresa by comparison.

Byoolin, you should be ashamed of that Marlee Matlin comment. Yet still I laughed.

And when Christopher Knight is the biggest name in a news release (poor Antonio Sabato, Jr.), you know it's gonna be bad. Besides, doesn't vh1 already have the market on "Celebrity Circus"? How else to explain Celebrity Fit Club, Dr. Drew, etc.?

Posted by: td | April 23, 2008 1:04 PM

"Isn't a pooched-out belly a common indication of malnutrition/starvation?"

The death watch marches on...

Posted by: 23112 | April 23, 2008 1:20 PM

Has anyone asked Mariah Carey if she actually knows what e=mc2 means? Did they give her a crash course on Einstein and a Talking Points memo before she released that record? I was so hoping someone would ask her that when she was mentor on AI.

Posted by: LLL | April 23, 2008 1:22 PM

23112 -- yes, Amy Winehouse is either pregnant, starving or has ascites (usually from starvation or liver failure, both viable options in this woman).

Posted by: LLL | April 23, 2008 1:24 PM

E=MC2 is supposed to an extension of her last CD, the Emancipation of Mimi. E is for emancipation and MC is for Mariah Carey. I do not know how I know this, I must have read is somewhere, but she is definately not trying to sound smart, which from some of her recent comments, is obvious.

Posted by: | April 23, 2008 1:33 PM

Actually, these are the REAL ballet crocs...

http://shop.crocs.com/pc-33-4-prima.aspx?reqid=33

They're cute, I have the black pair, but my feet sweat in them something awful! Isn't the point of Crocs so that your feet don't sweat?

Posted by: WDC 21113 | April 23, 2008 1:42 PM

The dog who relieved himself on Natalie Portman must have just seen her acting in the Star Wars movies and thought she was a tree.

Posted by: Woodbridge | April 23, 2008 12:33 PM

******

If this is true, we can safely assume Poochie is now in search of - in no particular order - Hayden Christensen, George Lucas and the script.

Posted by: byoolin | April 23, 2008 1:47 PM

Jan 11 isn't early enough for the Golden Globes. They need to move the award show back to June 29, the day before the Screen Actor's Guild contract runs out.

Posted by: MoCoSnarky | April 23, 2008 1:55 PM

Just to stick up for Kate Hudson a bit, I agree that she shouldn't be exposing her kids to a revolving door of men, particularly for purposes of photo ops, but she did marry and have kids young and is perhaps just doing at an older age what many young women do on a regular basis. She was with Owen Wilson before, so I'm not sure that having two boyfriends over the course of a couple of years really qualifies her for "ho" status.

Posted by: Meg | April 23, 2008 2:03 PM

Forget the sweating, when I wear my croc ballet flats, I experience the dreaded "foot fart" each time I take a step! hahahahaha

Posted by: expat51 | April 23, 2008 2:20 PM

------------------------------

That's exactly why I recommended the ones with the open heel! Less sweating and no "foot farts." Haha.

Posted by: firedancerk8 | April 23, 2008 3:33 PM

So OJ wants to join Celebrity Apprentice....it'll truly become a hack show if they take him.

Posted by: Sasquatch | April 23, 2008 3:54 PM

When I saw the headline that Scarlett Johansson is "too old", I thought that Woody Allen had just broken up with her.

Posted by: Sasquatch | April 23, 2008 4:04 PM

Expat51 sez:

========================================

Those are NOT foot farts. That is the sound of God speaking through Byoolin.

Posted by: Sasquatch | April 23, 2008 4:08 PM

That dog peeing on Natalie Portman looks a lot like Ewan McGregor, if he were a dog. Coincidence?

Posted by: possum | April 23, 2008 4:37 PM

Antonio Sabato, Jr., trivia: his birthday is Feb 29.

Posted by: | April 23, 2008 4:44 PM

I appreciate Mariah Carey's comment- good that she recognizes she is not cut out for parenthood- wish others (i.e. Spears sisters) could have come to that conclusion.

I've commented ad nauseam on those stoopid a** ballet flats that Amy W. continues to wear- she obviously is not heeding my fashion tips.

I think OJ would be better suited for another yet to be done reality show- something about getting away with murder with other contestants, Robert Blake and Phil Specter in the mix...
