How did the mystery caller get Clooney's telephone number? I imagine it's not listed in the White Pages.
I admit, I'm not a big Sarah Larson fan. Her body of work doesn't really impress me, though having been a cocktail waitress meself, I know how challenging that can be.

"How did the mystery caller get Clooney's telephone number? I imagine it's not listed in the White Pages."
methinks, there's not a G. Clooney or a George Clooney listed *anywhere in America* at whitepages.com.
Not only is he mancrushworthy, he apparently has major clout with the phone book directory people.

"Mancrushworthy" is TOO a word.
Posted by: byoolin | April 8, 2008 9:02 AM
Huh. Is it wrong that I think the masks are kind of a clever idea? I mean, it beats the trying-to-hide-face-from-camera alternatives. And of course, has HUGE potential for causing embarrassing trip-and-fall incidents.

Those masks make the Olsen Twins look like rejects from the Kubrick movie "Eyes Wide Shut."
Posted by: | April 8, 2008 9:20 AM
byoolin, if "spongeworthy" is a word, so is "mancrushworthy." In fact, I love that word and plan to use it in a conversation later today.
The Olson masks are creepy and Michael-Jackson-weird. They looked like extras on the set of "The Mask of the Red Death."

Last night, on one of the entertainment shows, they had pictures of one of the Olsen gal's after she removed the mask. For the first time in my life she looked like a REAL human being! Go figure.
Posted by: DCA native | April 8, 2008 9:39 AM
well i guess the masks is one way for the bride to make sure she looks better than her bridesmaids. no compeition!

I can't wait to see who the priest is that will let Tom be the twin's God parents. You have to be a Christian to be a Catholic God parent and that is only with another Catholic as the other God parent.

Oh no, those Olsen twins are going all Michael Jackson on us. Next thing you know, there will be Princess Ashley dangling from a hotel balcony.
Posted by: 44west | April 8, 2008 9:48 AM
Masks! They've never looked better! Maybe they'd get more dates if they wore them all the time.
Posted by: possum | April 8, 2008 9:48 AM
I hope Minnie's pregnancy will be written into "The Riches". I love that show!

I think wearing the masks was a bad idea. The Olsens attended and participated in the wedding to support the friend but instead they created a photo op for themselves.

I have to wonder, since it's their stylist's wedding, if it was her idea for the Olsens to wear the masks. I also notice from those photos that the twins and Jessica Beil are wearing black dresses which is usually a no-no at weddings. I think the stylist definitely had a say in all this.

From that picture, it looks like Gwyneths was too busy being a housewife to go shopping and just raided the Olsen twins' closet for a dress.
I just want to state for the record the grave oversight of the Pulitzer Prize committee for not recognizing our Liz Kelly's fine work in celebrity blogging.

Doesn't Amy Winehouse know that leeches are less expensive than caviar?
Posted by: | April 8, 2008 10:39 AM
1. Despite the bad dress, Gwyneth appears to be genuinely smiling in that photo. She looks pretty when she smiles. Should consider doing it more often.
2. Liz, where are the photos of Beyonce's wedding dress?? We need to see how she looked.

OK, so I read the piece on Orlando Bloom, cause he's so pretty. And in the article, it said that some guy, David Zandi, wanted the part too, and claims to be a real "Persian Prince." Um, ok. So, in order NOT to annoy Omni, I did not come here and say, who the heck is David Zandi! Oh no, I took the initiative and looked him up in imdb. Yep, his acting creditials "alien" in MIB II and "musician" in something called Marci X. And, he really does claim to be a member of the "Persian royal family" and is referred to as "Prince David" in his biography. And, best of all, his biography has this quote, "In this world, there are many forms of deception, but perhaps the greatest of them all, is self-deception." Well said, Prince David, well said.

did tom buy his way into godparenthood?
the socialist in me gags at the excess.

I agree w/ the person who noted that Gwyneth looks pretty in the photo. She looks happy. Maybe that's the problem? Once upon a time, I actually liked Gwyneth. Maybe, as she's become more famous, she's become snippy and disconcented and that's what comes out. She's like the dark and twisty Meredith Gray. I loathe this new Gwyneth--it's too bad we can't get the old one back. Probably too late.

Where is black a no-no? Not in NY...Been to a few weddings where black was worn and even knew of one where the bridal party wore black...
Posted by: WDC 21113 | April 8, 2008 11:36 AM
Any idea who the father of Minnie Driver's baby is? I haven't heard of her being involved with anyone since that debacle with Criss Angel. (At least it isn't him. Blech.)
Posted by: alex | April 8, 2008 11:38 AM
I've been to a number of evening weddings in Atlanta and at one of them, nearly everyone, including meself, was wearing black.
Posted by: methinks | April 8, 2008 11:53 AM
black is not necessarily a no-no at weddings especially if the wedding is a black tie affair or in the evening.
Posted by: no_bs_4me | April 8, 2008 12:03 PM
j.lo and tom are buds? eeew.
Posted by: say it isn't so | April 8, 2008 12:19 PM
Yup, my bridesmaids wore black. They were the most elegant dresses by far, (I tried them on too - I figured if I wouldn't wear them, I wouldn't make those I love buy them) and I know for a fact that some wore their dresses again to other events. And if you've ever been a bridesmaid then you know that's a pretty unusual feat! Church was very old and formal with dark wood, red carpet and a wall of organ pipes, so the formal dresses were not out of place at all. However, I did tell my friends that the "Eyes Wide Shut" masks were optional.

Isn't JLo a scientologist too? Gotta keep em in the fold & perpetuate the faith, dontcha know?
Posted by: hmmm | April 8, 2008 1:57 PM
"...Lopez, 38, is said to have purchased two Shetland ponies for Max and Emme..."
Posted by: Oooh, Liz, they said ponies | April 8, 2008 2:00 PM
JLo is not a scientologist. I remember her being asked in an interview about it because she hangs out with Leah Remini (who is apparently a scientologist). JLo is Catholic.

Any way we can get the Olsens to keep wearing the masks?
Posted by: reddragon | April 8, 2008 3:52 PM
SJP wore a black coktail dress to her wedding, which was just a party with friends at their apartment. Perfect.
Posted by: | April 8, 2008 4:12 PM
SJP has publicly said she regrets wearing a black dress to her wedding.
Posted by: | April 8, 2008 4:40 PM
I think black is OK if it is a formal wedding after 5 PM. But white is supposed to be tacky if you aren't the bride.
I can hear the answer now: Tacky schmacky! We're talking celebrities here!

Why do they celebrate a food-bank charity with an awards dinner? Why not an awards crop harvest?
Posted by: Jules | April 8, 2008 4:45 PM
I gave up on "Eyes Wide Shut" about a third of the way through it, so perhaps I am misunderstanding the reference, but I thought Tom Cruise wore a mask in "Vanilla Sky."

Even with the masks, I still can't tell the Olsens apart.
