McCain's South Carolina Spot: "Tied Up"
John McCain hit the airwaves in South Carolina this morning with a new TV spot, "Tied Up." As the song "Light My Fire" by the Doors booms in the background and a tie-dye like spiral swirls on the screen, the Arizona Republican senator slams Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) for supporting legislation that would have sent one million dollars to the Woodstock museum in New York.
In the ad, McCain recalls this from a podium during a Fox News debate, the audience laughs and he takes a jab at the New York senator: "I'm sure it was a cultural and pharmaceutical event. I was tied up at the time."
McCain's bottom line? "No one can be president of the United States that supports projects such as these," he says. And he offers a not-so-subtle reminder that he was a Navy hero and prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. Yet how much does an attack against Clinton help him stand out in his own field of Republicans? As his rivals join in laughter, the ad seems to hurt Clinton more than it helps his own campaign.

When asked if the FED cut rates to much McCain sounded as if finances are a foriegn language "I want rates to be 0". I am sad to say that I grew up beleiving that the President was the brighest and smartest man on the planet.
How does he not know about rate cuts. Econ 101. Hurts my stomach!
I realize that he is bought and sold like stock, makes no decisions, and the country is an oligarchy!

I think it's a good ad, playing to all of McCain strength's:
1) Fiscal restraint on pork barrel spending.
2) Military experience.
3) Sense of humor.
4) Electability.
