Hulu's Presidential Archive
A new video-sharing Web site, Hulu.com, launches today as an ad-supported alternative to YouTube.
It's a joint venture of NBC Universal and News Corporation. Selected TV programs and movies from both companies are available for viewing on the site. As The Post reports, Hulu "requires viewers to sit through two minutes of advertisements for a typical half-hour episode, or roughly 75 percent less commercial time than the typical prime-time TV show. Users of digital video recorders can skip commercials, but there's no fast-forwarding through Hulu."
Thanks to the NBC News archives, the site has access to an invaluable archive of interviews with former political leaders, and video of a more svelte Tim Russert (though he was just as tough then as he is now.)
