'Office': Take a Chance on Andy
The Office: Episode Three -- Dwight vs. the Machine.
And, God bless 'em, Dwight proved superior to the brand spankin' new Dunder Mifflin Web site when it came to paper sales. Final score: Dwight 1270 reams, web site 1218 reams.
Of course it didn't hurt that Dwight had access to those illegal paper sales leads that he stole from his last job at Staples (a clever homage to "Glengarry Glen Ross," don't you think?).

Dwight wins the paper war, but will he lose Angela to ABBA Andy? (NBC/Justin Lubin)
Alas, it was another hour-long "Office" that should have been a half-hour, But, geez, it did start with a laugh-out loud moment when poor Meredith returned in her crotch cast -- and asked Jim to sign it.
Jim and Pam continue to be in love (blech!) but they get a pass this week with their prank on Dwight who was convinced that the machines were talking to him.
Ryan is become the show's villain while Andy is starting to become, um, charming. Anyone else moved by his version of Abba's "Take a Chance on Me" to Angela, harmonizing with his singing buddies via speaker -- phone?
Michael keeping the pizza delivery boy hostage in the conference room was a good gag and I love the fact that Dwight recognized him as the kid who steals hemp from his farm (the same hemp that the delivery boy described as "really crappy weed").
Creed usually has the best line of the night but he was eerily quiet. So the honor goes to Kevin with this zinger about the terrible Pizza by Alfredo that was delivered to the office: "It's like eating a hot circle of garbage."
Yes, a sub-par episode but it's quips like that keep us coming back to the "Office" each week.

I meant to say "were not just a bickering couple" in the previous comment.

I think the reason the Jim/Pam storyline isn't awful is that the show doesn't revolve around them. The other characters are strong and funny enough that is isn't the Jim/Pam show.

seriously, how can you not like that couple. besides, they don't focus all the attention on them. their reminiscences about when they first knew they liked each other? terrific and right on.
re: the ABBA song, i thought it was great, but why were michael & dwight singing? that made no sense.

The darkest episode yet. Ryan as a villan? I find his junior exec. role quite likable. Maynard's got it right...Andy is the breakout character of the year. You say sub-par...doesn't that mean it's better than expected???

Do you play golf? In any other context, sub-par means below expectation.

I loved the ABBA bit, but according to the closed captioning, Dwight and Michael weere the singers on the phones, which doesn't make sense to me.
And while not perfect, the relationship between Jim and Pam is better than these things usually work out on TV. Unlike shows like Moonlighting, which went down hill when the "will they or won't they" was answered, Jim and Pam had a real friendship before and they were just a bickering couple with nothing but sexual tension between the two of them.
