'Housewives': Oh, the Addiction to Sweet Secrets

Ahh! Secrets - and more secrets - keep things interesting on Wisteria Lane. And last night's episode, "A Distant Past," had the beginnings of some secrets - but also several "reveals" and revelations:

The gutsiest was when Mike revealed that Barrett was a drug dealer. That brave declaration took away Barrett's power over Mike's secret - although Mike wasn't totally honest and continued to try to hide his pill addiction. And ever-clueless Susan... well, will she take any sort of action now that she's seen Mike taking pills in the car? Or will
she believe whatever excuse he gives her?

The least surprising was when Lynette's long-missing stepfather, Glen (Richard Chamberlain) revealed - after a long-drawn out scene -- that the reason he left Lynette's mother, Stella, was because he was gay. Although it was good to see Chamberlain on the small screen, the resolution of having Stella and Glen live together seemed too pat. Then again, perhaps this is setting up a future storyline?

And though it wasn't completely a surprise, Victor telling Gaby that he remembered everything on the boat was a most sinister reveal. What will Gaby (and presumably Carlos) do to foil Mayor Victor? Or will Victor prevail?

Perhaps a sweet reveal: Andrew having a real and honest conversation with his mother. Despite some extreme errors (leaving Andrew at the side of the road comes to mind), Bree must have done something right. She's been too wrapped up with the Danielle/baby thing to notice how Andrew has changed until he had to move out to get her attention, but
nice that she's started to see Andrew in a new light.

Of course, the secrets continue and get more complicated in other ways: Mike's keeping quiet about that mysterious woman who accosted Adam; then Adam reminded Orson that Adam knows the baby isn't Bree's; so Orson wrote a prescription for painkillers for Mike - and oh, yes, Mike needs the painkillers because he was hit by a car. And remember who was driving that car? Wasn't it Orson? (And what was that all about, anyway?)

What a tangled web! Your thoughts?

My thoughts? I think this column could probably be harder to find, but I really don't know how. How about putting it in the style section? It's pretty surprising that, despite this show's popularity, I am the only poster by 3:30 p.m.

Orson WAS the driver of the car--and I thought Mike knew that. Wasn't the reason they had the knock-down drag out fight on the roof of the hospital parking garage last season?

I agree. This column is harder to find than a freshly-scripted show will be by Christmas.

The reason Orson hit Mike with the car was because Mike witnessed Orson cleaning up after his mother murder Orson's girlfriend/wife/special someone.

Just curious: How did you find this posting?

Orson had tried to begin a new life with Monique but found her dead with his mother saying it was an accident (later revealed to be a murder). He had to hide the body when Mike Delfino, whom Monique had called, came to do some plumbing. He later buried her at the country club, his mother having removed Monique's teeth to prevent identification. All of this would soon come to haunt him however. Indeed, he met Susan at a movie theater and helped her get Mike jealous. He then met Bree who was residing at the hospital he stayed in while he came to visit an old friend and instantly became attracted to her. He then proceeded to cover his track by running over Mike and leaving him for dead - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orson_Hodge#Up_to_season_2

I agree 100 percent, can't ever find this column. It took me 25 minutes and numerous searches. What gives Wash Post?

I still look forward to seeing this show on Sunday evenings! Can't wait for the tornado one next week.

To find this column, tell your friends to: go to style/television/Channel this.

I need to see reruns of the thing with Orson running over Mike. I didn't watch as closely last season. I remember Orson's crazy mom and ex-wife, or whatever she was, but I need filling in.
