'Office': Karen's Return
On last night's "The Office," let's start with the Jim and Karen reunion at the Utica branch. Wow, was that awkward or what. They really are through, aren't they.

Stanley, staying put. (Mitchell Haaseth/NBC)
It didn't help that Jim was wearing a fake moustache and a Dunder Mifflin warehouse outfit with the name "Madge" on it. Or that Michael and Dwight were trying to steal the copy machine from Karen's office.
Karen's definitely bitter but it was good to see her back -- would love to see more of her at the Utica branch.
Stanley's not going anywhere despite Karen's attempt to poach him from Scranton.
Some envelope-pushing on "The Office" last night during Michael, Dwight and Jim's road trip to Utica. Dwight, in the back seat, relieving himself in the coke can? Great stuff.
Meanwhile, back in Scranton, it was another meeting of the Finer Things Club comprised of Pam, Oscar and Toby. Oscar described the club this way: "Besides having sex with other men, it's the gayest thing I've ever done." Unfortunately, this week's meeting was interrupted by Phyllis's popcorn making and Kevin's vending machine abuse.
And poor Andy -- he so wants to be a member. Well, he has a shot after Jim was outed for not reading "Angela's Ashes."

Oscar's line re: Finer Things Club was OUTSTANDING!!! My vote for Line of the Year.
Dwight cutting his penis on the soft drink can??? Was surprised that NBC allowed the use of that word...Is that unusual, John??

Road trip to laughter! This shows writers should be given what ever they want to continue on without missing a beat. Please don't strike. By far the funniest show since Seinfeld if not funnier. Can't get enough of it.

To "Tina Yothers Fan Club"
I don't think it's unprecedent to use the "P" word -- I'm sure the NBC standards and practices guy wasn't thrilled (nor the FCC) but it's certainly not off-limits
Thanks for reading. And what's this obsession with Tina Yothers?

Absolutely brilliant story line last night. The Office is definitely hitting its stride now. There wer two or three laugh out loud moments which reinforced the idea that it is one of the funniest, if not the funniest, shows on TV.

Yes, this was an excellent effort. But I've never heard of one branch of a company trying to poach an employee of another branch of that same company via a salary increase. Can anyone make sense of this for me?

My DVR screwed up and I missed it.
Woe is me! WOE is ME!

The episode was pretty funny, but the best part was the very last 30 seconds of the show when Jim finally joined the Finer Things Club. Pam mouthing "I'm sorry" to Oscar as Jim sat there staring down at the table in the closing seconds was classic.

skeptical -- keep in mind that there is no business sense in The Office. Otherwise Michael would have been fired a long, long time ago.

Every episode this season just gets better and better. My last week, made me laugh the most when Kevin handed Phyllis tape to wipe her tears off. I about died! Hilarious! My husband laughed out loud with Oscar's comment last night though, that was very good!

'the finer things' club is brilliant and oscar's line is a strong contender for the best line of the season...and there have been some beauties.
and how about when phyllis said the other microwave smelled like popcorn when she was, in fact, microwaving popcorn?

Re: Tina Yothers
John, thanks for the always-accurate info on use of language, etc. Regarding Tina Yothers, she reminds me of a more mature Cindy Brady. Enough said about that. Besides, Justine Bateman always seemed so unattainable to me.

Re Vor's "Otherwise Michael would have been fired a long, long time ago": the beauty of this show is that EVERYBODY who watches it has had a Michael for a boss who was grossly incompetent, yet still kept his job somehow. I've seen "poaching" of employees before, too. This show is sooo much like real life in many ways, it's uncanny...like Scott Adams says when he writes his comic strip "Dilbert," he NEVER has to make up stuff to be funny, b/c people send him so much stuff that you'd think couldn't possibly be true. That's how "Office" is. And sorry, but I can't wait until the REAL fireworks begin when "Jam" breaks up...and love turns to hate...and we see MORE KAREN...

Easily one of the strongest episodes of The Office this season. The three of them in those ridiculous mustaches and Jim hiding from Karen in the car made for a truly hilarious episode.
