'Heroes': Dads! Daughters! And the Regeneration Gap!

Noah goes down. But is he out?

He may have been shot in the eye, but it seems that Noah might share daughter Claire Bear's special gift--except the whole regeneration thing takes a whole lot longer. (And just where did he wake up?) Alas, we may not know his fate before the probable Dec. 3 season finale. Only two episodes remain as the writers' strike lumbers on. What a shame, too, since "Heroes" is finally going places.

More groovy revelations last night: We learn that nerdy Bob is hot Elle's Dad. Although there's not much of a resemblance, they are both cold-hearted snakes, so I buy it. Despite some bloggers' thoughts, I really dig that Elle--what a salacious little tart she is. Last week, she was all over Peter, and now Suresh is the object of her affections. Speaking of Suresh, can't believe he had it in him to pull the trigger.

Things are starting to make sense with Adam/Kensei -- he's on a mission to kill off all the old fogies that locked him up 30 years ago. Can Hiro, who was blinking himself all over the place this week (Dad's funeral, Dad's death, Mom's funeral, back to Dad's funeral) stop the evil Adam?

Check out the big brain on Matt! Finally, he's using that mind-reading thing effectively. After all, he may have figured out Adam's role AND he made Molly eat all her cereal.

Now we wait for next week and the November "Sweeps" Cat Fight between Claire Bear and Elle. That's going to be sa-weet.

Noah doesn't share Claire's talent. They had him on an IV of Claire's blood, which temporarily grants her regenative properties to the recipient. Kind of like when Adam/Kensei injected him blood into Nathan. Duh!

Is it regenative or regenerative? I think the latter. Oh well.

How sad is it that this mini-season is over in two more episodes? On the other hand, they were advertizing this 5-episode arc way before the writer's strike, so at least they were thinking ahead and will hopefully not leave us with a bunch of loose ends. Yet another reason why TV show modelled after comic book narrative structure is a good idea!

I really like this show and want to see it continue. But. You know things are really going down hill when major story lines become predictable.

Raise your hand if you knew Adam was the dude in the hoodie throwing Sulu off the building. Okay. Now, who guessed that HRG would be getting a jump start from Claire's blood bank?

Class dismissed! (And take Elle with you!)

I'm not quite sure why Bob would declare Noah a menace, give Mohinder a gun to kill him, and then resuscitate him with Sangre de Claire. Note, however, that Noah was not shown in the van when Mohinder and Elle seemed to be showing their conscience and regret on their faces. Maybe someone else picked him up.

The catfight between The Human Taser and Invicichick has to be a stalemate, right. 1. Elle zaps.
2. Claire regenerates.
3. Repeat step 1
(The crowd chants bor-ing, bor-ing).

To the reviewer...PLEASE PAY ATTENTION during the show. Geez.

I'm a little surprised at Noah being brought back, to be honest, especially since it had to be Bob that made it happen. I wonder where it's going.

But more than that, I really, really wonder what Mama Petrelli was going on about with Parkman! She half-looked like she was going to vomit.

Is Kristin Bell scheduled for any more episodes? I thought I heard when they announced she was joining the show that she was only going to be in 4 episodes (last night being #4, I believe).

Are you telling me that you didn't know Bob was Elle's father?

Posted by: RFairweather | November 20, 2007 11:36 AM

First of all, anyone with half a brain knew Bob was Elle's father. She called someone Daddy on her cellphone in her first episode (outside the pub in Ireland), and later revealed that she was raised in the comapany compound. Second, Noah Bennett does not have regenerative powers (remember when he shot himself last season?). He is receiving an infusion of regenerative blood, like when Adam restored Nathan with his blood. Just thought if you were going to blog about the show, you would at least want to be knowledgeable about it.

Thanks everyone! Thought it was just me who wonders if John really pays attention when he watches and blogs about this show. In addition to all that has already been posted, can I make the case for Mohinder to just die already? At least Matt's storyline is starting to get interesting (loved the "get over your daddy issues" line as he slides to the dark side of the Force), but my least favorite Indian doctor on T.V. is still a royal pain in the a**! Now that Matt's grown a spine, Dr. Dumb is firmly in place as the most gullible idiot on this show and can always be counted on to consistently do the most boneheaded and naive thing possible at any given point. I swear, I would rather watch Claire's poor-me, stereotypically whiny-teen storyline than his. If they are trying to use him as the conflicted moral center of this show, they've failed miserably. He's not conflicted...he's just stupid. Kill him off already!

Thanks for the comments, folks.

Mea culpa.

My TV-addled brain obviously failed me last night. Missed the blood transfusion (I blame a non-sleeping 2-year-old in the next room and a failed TiVo taping).

To answer SeaTac's question -- NBC tells me that Kristen Bell (Elle)is slated for 13 total episodes -- so we've got a lot more Elle on the way (unless the strike continues and "Heroes" goes kaput on Dec. 3).

Dear writers stop blogging for this show it seem as if you know nothing about it. Thanks!

Thanks John - I think I'm the only one glad Kristin Bell is staying around!
