'Project Runway': Reese's Designer Pieces

Somehow, sadly, it was oh-so-fitting that the contestant named "Sweet P" would flame out miserably this week on a design challenge that involved copious amounts of corn syrup -- from Twizzlers vines to Reese's cups.

But who among us anticipated that it would be Elisa -- the usually reliable queen of "Candyland" styles -- who would go all drab-brown conservative on us? (She said she was going for "Gretel," but even a gingerbread shade would have been more eye-catching.) She got the boot, but no doubt: We will miss-ya, Elisa.

After a two-week hiatus, "Project Runway" returned Wednesday night with a particularly fun episode, as the designers -- like trick-or-treaters on a time clock -- scavenged their way through a Manhattan Hershey's store, looking for raw design material amid the confections and candy packaging. Then the designers had little more than a day to invent and stitch their molar-melting creations.

Rami won the challenge (and immunity next week) with a beautifully fitted dress that featured a repeating peppermint-patty pattern. But personally, we preferred Jillian's swinging, sassy, red-Twizzler dress, which was the only Hershey's-inspired outfit that sported edible goods -- for that alone, her full-on embrace of the High Fructose challenge, we give her the sweet, sweet edge. Or perhaps we were just won over by her model, too, who helped hand-stitch the outfit as deadline loomed; talk about a true trouper, and who knew that any of the models could wield such a mean needle?

And perhaps the last Big Surprise of the challenge was that Chris -- the resident aficionado of working with costume-design edibles -- would go so conservative, and do it so tastefully. It was so winning that we nearly forgot that Chris has already been Auf'd from the show once and is still designing on borrowed time.

So as we lick our chops and polish off this delicious episode, we ask: If you could script the next challenge yourself, what would you make it?

I would like to see them design a modern woman's pantsuit for the office. It seems like they always do dresses/skirts (I suspect pants are harder). Professional but feminine, too. And avoiding the cliches of pantsuits past (shoulder pads, etc.).

Candy's easy.

I want to see them work with ground beef.
