'Dancing With the Stars': The World As It Should Be?
She's ever so personable, but even Monica Seles knows that dancing for votes just isn't her thing.
Seles gets canned during this week's Round One of elimination, which plays out pretty much how many thought it would. She deserves it, but she gets major props for being someone who really, really tried -- and she has a genuine quality that is hard not to embrace in the reality universe.
In the Cranky Old Men category, Penn Jillette gets bounced. His attitude is less dour than the previous night (either that or he just took his sarcastic edge down a few notches), and he was funny on Jimmy Kimmel's show later in the night . But the only way he could have stayed is if the ax had swung toward Adam Carolla, who is going to go bye-bye soon no matter what -- but it IS a bonus for Julianne Hough's legions of fans that he&she lasted another week.
The Jonas Brothers performed (we'll love to see Lisa de Moraes's report on how that affected ratings). Is there any demographic that wants to see Priscilla Presley AND the Jonas boys -- at least other than maybe Hannah Montana's dad, Billy Ray Cyrus?

I cannot believe Coralla has even one legion of fans. I am looking forward to his appearance on Kimmel. Jilette set a high bar there, though

Julianne was teamed w/ Adam Carolla on purpose. It was the same move they pulled w/ Cherly and others who had won. TBTB figure those pros have had their chance so they stick them w/ a clunker. What I don't get are the pros that get the clunkers every time. Someone must really have it in for them!
Carolla may have Man Show fans--and Kimmels support may help--but are these people watching DwtS and actually calling in to vote? Hard to say if he has a fan base, which is what really counts w/ this show. (Which is why good dancers like Christian and Shannon may go sooner than people think--because they don't have a fan base.)

Damn straight he has a fan base! You would be surprised how loyal the fans of his radio show(s) are... I have always found him to be an awkward TV presence, and was never a big follower of the Man Show, but he's by far the best radio personality out there (and I include Howard Stern in that statement). His radio fans are devoted to his success, and have had a major hand in the DWTS voting, I would bet. Just check out the unofficial message board for his radio show, and you'll see some evidence of that.

I hear you Alex. Why must they be so cruel to Kym Johnson? She had Joey Fatone but other than that, they've put her with Jerry Springer, Mark Cuban, and now she and Penn are gone. She is an attractive young woman and a talented dancer, give her a chance to do well! Same with Anna, they always give her the cruel slave driver persona. They seem to favor Karina, the Houghs, and Mark Ballas.

Julianne is the most beautiful dancer and her dance partner is very good too. I am happy you won last 2 season it was amazing to see you dance. Heilo think he is in love with you Julianne. I am a big fan of you. I can't beleive Kym Johnson got knick off and also Jonathan got knick off.

Julianne is excellent dancer and she is going to made her dance partner work very hard. Is Adam Carolla your partner. I hope you win again with your dance partner. Jonathan keep on looking at her like in love with you Julianne. I am glad you and Cheryl are safe. I love you voth very much. You need to know just you Julianne that I am not having a good time with my byfriend. He is 19 years old and I am 16 years old. What should I do? Will go luck on dancing with the stars
