Morning click: T.I. released, Ticketmaster/Live Nation merger clears hurdle, Steven Tyler to rehab

T.I.The King of the South gets out of jail early.

- Rapper T.I. got an early Christmas present - release from prison. He served seven months of a one-year sentence and will now get to leave an Arkansas federal prison and head home to Atlanta. It's not quite home sweet home; he'll serve another two to three months at a halfway house.

- The Ticketmaster/Live Nation merger is one step closer to reality after the U.K.'s Competition Committee reversed a previous ruling that the joint venture would be anti-competitive. The independent commission changed its ruling when Ticketmaster and Live Nation provided information that showed British company CTS Eventim would not be harmed by the merger. There is still plenty of opposition in the U.S., as anyone who is on the 9:30 club's mailing list can tell you. Local promoter I.M.P. (which operates the 9:30) has long been an outspoken opponent of the merger and is now taking the argument straight to the customers. To be continued...

- It's Jose Feliciano's favorite time of year, when the royalties roll in for his hit seasonal hit "Feliz Navidad." But he's not so happy with radio show "The Fox and Rice Experience" which has a new parody, "Illegals In My Yard." “I am filled with disgust ... [that they] have utilized the joyful spirit of Feliz Navidad without authorization to spread a message of racism and fear during the Christmas season," Feliciano said in a statement. "They should be truly ashamed."

- Steven Tyler -- still in Aerosmith, back in rehab. Tyler told Rolling Stone that he's seeking treatment for an addiction to painkillers and reports that he demanded a two-year break from the band were completely false. "I will enthusiastically be writing, recording and performing with Aerosmith as soon as things are handled," he said.

Hey heym Steve's in rehab...again. Wasn't he in for the same thing 2 or 3 years ago?

Yeah, I got the email from Seth to. Not sure what to make of this so far, though having tickets to your even sold by a competitor, like they have to be for IMP shows at Patriot Center, VCenter, Constitution Hall and Seth's own Merriweather can't be fun. I See Merriweather going to Ticketfly at some point soon.
