Coda: Super Bowl halftime wish list, "on repeat" favorites, the best of Def Jux
Mr. Lif was part of Definitive Jux's impressive stable of rappers.
After considering the lousiness of Taylor Swift's performance and some other clunkers we moved on from the Grammys. We paid tribute to hip-hop label Definitive Jux, which is going "on hiatus." Local children's singer-songwriter Barry Louis Polisar played favorites with his own songs - cover versions that appear on a new tribute album. In honor of "Groundhog Day" (the movie) we picked songs we listen to over and over again. There was Super Bowl halftime show pining, and a breakdown of the Oscar nominees for Best Original Song. Stephin Merritt and Magnetic Fields came to town and Eric Church chatted about lots of stuff. Enjoy the snow!
