He dropped the "Cougar." Will he add a "Senator?"

Fans on Facebook and Twitter are prodding Indiana rock hero John Mellencamp to run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Indiana's Sen. Evan Bayh. Mellencamp remains silent. On Thursday, the singer's spokesman Bob Merlis told the Associated Press that Mellencamp "has no statement to offer."
