Week ahead: Black Eyed Peas at Verizon Center, cross-genre local show at Rock and Roll Hotel, another Johnny Cash album

In concert: Prepare for the Black Eyed Peas invasion of Verizon Center Tuesday by reading our spazztastic interview with Will.I.Am. If the Peas aren't your thing there are a couple of other nice options on Tuesday: gauzy U.K. indie-pop stalwarts the Clientele at the Black Cat and throwback funk/soul upstart Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears at Rock and Roll Hotel. Want to catch a couple of local up-and-comers? Rock and Roll Hotel hosts a cross-genre bill Friday with rockers U.S. Royalty and rapper Phil Ade.

In stores: Reviews tomorrow include the latest (last?) posthumous effort from Johnny Cash as well as the two-hour, 3-disc epic from harpist Joanna Newsom. Also available: the latest from the clever and twangy Clem Snide, dramatic indie rockers Shearwater and the second collaboration between late Malian guitarist Ali Farka Touré and kora master Toumani Diabaté.

On TV: Jennifer Lopez will be both host and musical guest on "Saturday Night Live." What else do you need? (Hopefully nothing because all the late-night shows are either in reruns or preempted due to the Olympics.)
