Readers, let this be known as the shuffle that made me like Styx. The best song that came up in my shuffle today was one I never realized I had: "She Cares," an out-of-character -- and awesome -- power pop song from the arena-prog band's 1981 album "Paradise Theater." After that it's pretty, political samba, Chicago garage punk, a lesser known cut from Al Stewart's "Year of the Cat," and Klara Kormendi's recording of Erik Satie's sentimental "Je Te Veux" for piano.
- Styx "She Cares"
- Chico Buarque "Samba de Orly"
- Vee Dee "Midwest Tet"
- Al Stewart "If It Doesn't Come Naturally, Leave It"
- Klara Kormendi "Je Te Veux" (Erik Satie)
