Local news: Results from the 24th Annual Wammies

The Washington Area Music Association doled out a spate of awards at the 24th Annual Wammies, Sunday night. The ceremony was held at the State Theater in Falls Church and blueswoman Patty Reese was the evenings big winner, nabbing six awards.

There were some big upsets, too. Eric Scott topped Raheem DeVaughn for best Urban/Contemporary Vocalist. Meanwhile, rapper Chistylez Bacon defeated MCs whose rhymes have made national waves, including Tabi Bonney and Wale.
