Morning click: OK Go-es it alone, Beck records with St. Vincent and Os Mutantes
By David Malitz
- Seven million (and counting) YouTube hits can't be wrong. Even after winning a battle with its record label, EMI, to allow its videos to be embedded on Web sites (see above!) OK Go has decided to leave and go out on its own. Frontman Damian Kulash spilled the dirt to New York Magazine about why the band decided to bolt. "It’s something of a gift from them to let us go. We steer our own ship just fine," he said.
- Beck is at it again. St. Vincent broke the news on Twitter that she, Beck, and members of abrasive rockers Liars and tropicalia icons O's Mutantes were the latest crew to record an album in one day, which will soon be posted on Beck's Web site. No word on the album.
- Country duo Lady Antebellum is back at the top of the Billboard charts after three weeks in the No. 2 spot. Sade fell to the second spot after a three-week reign at No. 1. Local product Raheem DeVaughn checked in at No. 9 as his new album "The Love and MasterPeace" sold 45,000 copies in its first week.

Aaaaah help! I've just been slain by Rick Wakeman's furious fingerwork! Or maybe it was the mullet.
