- The White Stripes will hit the big screen at the AFI in Silver Spring on Friday March 12 when the theater screens "Under Great White Northern Lights," a tour documentary filmed on a 2007 jaunt across Canada. If you'd prefer to see it on a smaller screen, a DVD of the film lands in stores on March 16 alongside a new live album of the same name.
- According to AllHipHop, Gang Starr rapper Guru has emerged from a coma following heart surgery. “I am doing fine and I am recovering!" the rapper said in a statement. "I’m weak though.” Meantime, Guru's nephew Justin Nicholas-Elam Ruff took to YouTube yesterday, accusing Guru's producer Solar of withholding medical information from the rapper's family.
- My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar has parted ways with the mascara-clad emo troupe. The band addressed the split on its website: “This was a painful decision for all of us to make and was not taken lightly. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors and expect you all to do the same.”
